Less Expensive Wheels for Luggage Works
Hi Everybody,
I'm at the point where the wheels on my Luggage Works suit case are starting to make some funny noises.
The lowest price I can find is $19.90, here: LuggageWorks - Luggage, Duffels, Flight Kits, Rolling Bags, Airline Discounts - browser
Does anybody know if standard roller blade wheels/bearings will fit?
Is there any place to get replacement wheels for a lower price?
20 bucks just seems a little steep...
Thanks

Go to the pawn shop or used sporting goods store and buy a pair of roller blades for $10. Unbolt the 8 wheels, and throw away the rest. You're good for life.
I just went to the sporting goods place and bought the $1 wheels that weren't cool anymore. A small tube with 10 bearings is about $10. Make sure you get the crush sleeve that fits between the bearings, inside the wheel.
As posted above, some spray cleaner and then a few drops of teflon lubricant will freshen up your noisy bearings, but new bearings are cheaper than buying those products (if you don't already have them).

I've sent my bag in to get repaired. It's not too bad, considering it's free. They send you a bag to use while they are working on yours, you send them your broken bag, they fix it and send it back. Then you send the loaner bag. It's worth it to do while your bag is still under warranty.

Anybody have experience with replacing the wheels on one of those Ebags pilot bags? I've replaced them several times in the last couple of years with wheels Ebags sends me, and they never seem to last very long. Does anybody know if a standard rollerblade wheel will work? Any suggestions?
Apparently Ebags stopped selling/supporting the bag, which means I can't get wheels from them anymore.....
