Question for BAC 146 Mesaba Pilots

Is it true that Mesaba has sold their 146's to an airline in Europe... I believe Ireland to be exact?

Also have any of your pilots been offered positions to fly in Europe?

Thanks for the response.

Mesaba has sold zero 146's.

Thanks for the rerpsonse -41. There is a chap on PPrune beating his chest claiming that Mesaba pilots are following the sold 146s to Europe. It's under the terms of endearment section if you wish to set the record straight. Thanks.

Thought I read that Air France bought 10+ Avros for its CityLine Operation based out of Dublin and CDG.

I know of a few guys that are former 146 drivers at XJ that are looking into it. Last I heard, pay was 3K per month, 1K per diem and free housing.

Those airplanes may very well be sold, and a few pilot may get jobs where ever they end up. But none have been sold by Mesaba. Those aircraft have/are being returned to BAE.

NWA owns the Avro's that Mesaba flies. Yes, they are being returned to BAe and placed with a carrier or two in Europe. Yes, DPI (Direct Personel International) out of Ireland is calling Mesaba Avro Pilot's to offer them a chance to APPLY for the positions that are available for that 12 month contract.

8 days off per month to max of 26 days off in 3 month period. Must provide your own white shirts and black pants. Accomodation at your assigned base is the responsibility of the airline, so I don't know if it is all paid or not.

You pay your own way over there and IF you complete training they reimburse the ticket to and from the states.

F/O pay is 4650 Euro. 900 block hours in 12 months minimum.

Those are the facts from the sheet I am looking at.

I had a friend at mesaba just get called by DPI. If your single and don't mind living overseas, sounds like a pretty good gig. Pay is better than here in the US, tax benefits, and a majority of housing/expense costs are covered.

Works out to about $70K/year USD based on pay alone.
