American Connection?? Chatauqua??

On the way homr from work this morning (United OCC) Chicago Public Radio was reporting (or Bemoaning) that American is increasing their service out of ORD and are going with CHQ as the Airline of choice for the new expansion under the guise of "AMERICAN CONNECTION" Is this fact?? And,
If so what is the impact to American Eagle?? United just added service TO STL- Lambert and American is closing it down. Is this some sort of Mumbly peg game?? The ORD and Chicago airports commission are all in a "Tizzy" because there'll be fewer passengers after the AMR Expansion to Gouge and less in Landing fees because of lesser Weights. I'm not really SURE they have an Argument and they're getting what they Deserve in my opinion in trying to get UAL and AMR to pay increased landing fees so they might build another TERMINAL for LCC airlines. What?? Did they think UAL and AMR were just going to go along with that Idea or what?? Chicago airports has dened in the past revamping the E and F Concourses for egional jet bridges because they don't want to restrict mainline equipment. Gates B22-29 were built for UAX work before AWSC departed UAX. I seriously DOUBT any UAX carrier will ever use those gates or that Terminal extension again. This is going to get Interesting to say the least.

"American Connection" doesn't exactly roll off the tongue. But CHQ obviously can't go around announcing themselves as "American Eagle" either.

So maybe they can fly as "American Indian"...

After all, Chautauqua is the ancient Iroquois word for "man that rides another man's horse"

Now that's funny, I take it you are well versed in American Indian studies or the like.

This has been in the works for several months month, at least six IIRC. Basically, AA contracted flying with CHQ back around 2000. This flying was primarily done out of STL. Now that AA is shutting that flying down, they need to do something with CHQ other than pay them to sit on their hands. The Eagle pilots don't like it, but they haven't lost any flying per se. They just haven't gained any from the shift either.

I opened this thread and was reminded why I never visit APC Forums anymore. The intelligence level went through the floor.
