This isnt living.

Take a step back (if you haven't already) and look at what life as a pilot has become for you.

Its BS!

The only reason why you're still doing it now is because its a job that pays. One of the few around , and unlike a few years ago, you cant just 'go somewhere else'. Something has to be done now.I have a few good ideas.

Im not soliciting my own website/ im not advertising an illegal job action.

All im saying is i plan on doing something about it.

I cant recieve pm's just yet, and i probably wont be able to post my email. But know im planning something BIG!A movement that will change this for all pilots future past and present.

Had to brighten up this lovely topic somehow.

You might be able to joke about this because you don't really care, or your just willing to show up an get shafted when you go to work. Your company doesn't respect you, you cant even stay on topic. This is a public forum, i wonder how many management people look at this and laugh. They know when there goin' down so they get the pads ready, for us its different, try to show some concern next time.

Maybe it's time that we do. What are they going to do? Force us to go back to work?

... oh, wait.

ReadyToGo 03-05-2010 04:29 PM

they wouldnt have to force us...just threaten an fo and some captains with losing a paycheck and they'd be willing to go back to work in a second, sending apology letters to everyone in management.

Gate agents have unions that work, baggage handlers have unions that work, ATC's have unions that work, management has money, and pilots have ...ALPA

Whoosh.

Report back once you've read up on Reagan and his stint with ATC.

hey glenn beck, don't do anything drastic that will make people lose their jobs

Ive read up on that, as well as almost 50 other major union/management scuffles over the years. It all comes down to solidarity and numbers.
Pilots are always flying around, different companies, different uniforms, different hats. What time do you have to gather together and say no? controllers all had the same employer, worked under the same rule, they saw each other every other day.

While you and i are both pilots, i dont know you well enough to stand on a picket line with you.And as eff'd up as that sounds its the truth. What im planning is something crazy enough to work, that i believe take the industry by surprise, and get us all what we need.
