Hey BCPILOT, what were your times when you applied?
I am at about 800/34, waiting for the 50 multi to send an application. 50 multi may be their bare minimum.

That’s if you can hold onto your job. AMR will put up all that 135 lift up for bid and Eagle employees will get screwed. I would expect 30% of the pilots on the street once they officially break up Eagle. The equipment is obsolete and cost structure is too high to be competitive. I expect Pinnacle to move in or Express Jet, putting hundreds of Eagle employees looking for jobs. If you think I'm wrong just ask yourself, "Why did AMR do this"? I'm not trying to ruin any hope here just being realistic so people can make an informative decision when choosing.

AMR did this to please the stockholders. And you really think ExpressJet will come in?? They fly the same equipment.... And if you really think 30% of us will be on the street, you are smoking something pretty strong.... Are there furloughs possible? Maybe. But not for some time.... Nothing will change right away. The changes will have to do with the terms of the ASA when it comes out. Not to mention there is a good period of time before the divestiture will be approved and then finalized.

Nope, you aren't ruining hope, you are giving valid advice. My husband has an offer from Eagle and XJT right now and we are trying VERY hard to make the right decision. Long term, XJT looks better bc Eagle's future is just too uncertain. Short term, however, quality of life looks better at Eagle.

You have not clue. The Eagle ASA/CPA is going to be for 100% of AMR feed for the next 3-5 years. Also per APA scope Pinnacle and Express Jet can't bid on AMR flying.
The only companies that can bid on AMR flying right now are RAH using CHQ, Air Wisconsin, TSA, PDT, Commutair.

And they are really trying to do it this time..
AMR to Proceed With Planned Eagle Spinoff - Bloomberg

Machwon 08-09-2011 03:06 PM

I would like to see any regional take over Eagles feed in the next 3-5 years. No one has the man power right now to do it. Plus with the Majors in talks of hiring the flood gates will open and no one will be properly staffed for a long time. I don't understand what makes people think their airline will take over feed when they can't staff their own feed. All of this talk is just to scare the senior guys at AE to go over to AA.

Won't the fact that they are keeping some of Eagle's debt make Eagle more appealing to other majors as a regional carrier? What I'm saying is, wouldn't that allow them to underbid other regionals? Or is the general thought that the aircraft they currently maintain isn't fuel efficiet enough/profitable enough to be attractive to other majors?
