Hotels are typically of the Holiday Inn type. Nothing luxurious but they are mostly clean with free internet and at least some food options. They might not be close to anything you want to entertain you, but it's better than it has been. Then again, our overnights are rarely long enough to do much.
No 401K match, although I guess that depends on the outcome of the contract. Not too many outstations left. BUF, SYR, BHB, PQI, and CRW are the only ones left and they've got some of the most recent new guys. IAD is a good bet for a new hire though. |

Now, that being said, I was rather shocked to see the number of 7000 #s on the list for upgrade through Nov!! If this keeps up and we do get the 15Q's next year, I can easily see every FO we have right now (with the exceptions of possibly the brand new guys coming online this year) upgrading by April of 2012. I don't mean to sound like the "car salesman" here, but if you look at the numbers on the Preferential Bid Award it makes sense.
Ok, so you clearly work for Colgan (as do I) ... this is your second time at this airline apparently ... already upgraded, but are now back as a FO??... and have no desire to move on to a major???? *** did you come back?? lol ;) ex-Navy Rotorhead:) |
Anyone that gives me the finger usually gets a friendly wave or a peace sign from me... I reserve the coveted shocker for special occasions.

You don't make friends in this business by being their personal spelling/grammar checker or finding something trivial to contradict them! That person could one day be YOUR checkairman. He will most certainly then bust you down to a job that requires touching ****** with your hands.

I guess this is a difference of opinion between you and I. I correct things like loose/lose, their/there/they're because they're simple things to do correctly if someone has ever pointed it out to you. People use things like that wrong not because they're stupid but because they've never had it pointed out to them. I have a hard time taking someone seriously that can't get those things correct because if you haven't learned those basic things it makes me question the various other things you might not know. I consider it a favor, if I say something incorrectly I hope that someone corrects me so I don't continue doing it incorrectly forever. I guess it's because I'd rather make forward progress than save my ego, silly me.
As for the check airmen thing, I've had check airmen do things that I considered to be wrong and since it wasn't dangerous I kept my mouth shut. I know there's a time and a place, I consider an internet forum to be a pretty safe place to make those corrections without horribly offending someone. |

I bet you will be a real joy to fly with when you reach the coveted left-seat of the CRJ...And, please keep us informed on the latest and greatest at 9L as it sounds like you really have your fingers on the pulse of the company. Once again, thank you for your English lesson too. J

you sound like a 12yr old............. Haven't you quit flying altogether? I thought I read where after leaving the bottom feeder for the exalted Express Jet, you had thoughts about the industry as a whole. |

Not that I care, but 4 flights a day on 19 seats vs. 2 flights a day on 34 seats is only a net gain of 8 passengers. IAD gives far more connection options than CLE. I think PKB pax lose on this deal.

I kid, I kid. For the record, I find anal retentiveness very attractive. I love having the guy in the other seat tell me I am 3 kts fast. |

I just tell them to lay off the shrooms and to hand me a beer.... <heavy sarcasm>.... actually I would probably just rip some hot and heavy gas to take their mind off the 3kts. |

As a followup to the discussion before this train derailed, Johnstown and Altoona have decided to stick with Colgan another 2 years.

Not sure about the rest of your comment......but additional seat would be a moot point. :p:p:p Okay, okay......I don't really care, just adding to the comic relief of the grammar policing going on here. |
