Default Shuttle America flying Frontier Flights?

Alright, I'm not in 121 aviation, so if this is a dumb question that is common knowledge don't make fun of me......

Why am I seeing/hearing so many Shuttle America flights in and out of DEN, is republic having them take over flights that Frontier used to fly or whats the deal?

Shuttle America flies FFD for United and has a ton of flights that originate or turn out of KDEN. All of the F9 flying is on the Republic cert and thus would have a "brickyard" call sign, not "mercury"

No, S5 will never do F9 flying. When contracts with DL/UA expire those aircraft will be shifted to the RW certificate along with the crews.

Shuttle does united flying only out of Denver. However, on occasion you may see a Shuttle America spare a/c at a Frontier gate doing a Frontier flight. However, these spares are flown by Republic crews using the Brickyard callsign. RAH finally found a way to convince the FSDO that a Shuttle America 170 is the same as a Republic 170, and we now have a legal means to swap a few airframes between certificates. So yes, you may see "operated by Shuttle America" on the side of a Frontier flight on occasion.

Those planes are generic paint. All white with a blue tail. Nothing on the side but a N-number.

Me thinks the FAA restrictions may be a positive for labor. The easier management can throw aircraft around, the greater potential for labor to take it up the hind end.
