Comair Class Date Poll

Just out of curiosity; if you’re a recalled Comair pilot “you actually received a recall letter”, which class are you going to pick?

STINKY 06-02-2010 03:54 PM

august 1 would be my first choice and only choice

Paok 06-02-2010 04:40 PM

Took recall, no class because of military leave. :)

Well 15 voters with a 33% resignation. Who else!?

mosquito 06-03-2010 02:59 AM

Lets say we get 50 pilots coming back on the 13, you show up then they send you home for a week or 2, do you get paid for that time off?

Good question. They did say they'll expect you to be there on the day of your choice.

tjflyboy 06-03-2010 08:28 AM

It would be cool if all 100 took part, thing is anybody signed in can...

Spoilers 06-03-2010 08:31 AM

My guess is June 13th/20th, along with August 1 will be the most popular dates. The ones that want to come back to work right away will be 13/20, and the ones that want to avoid JFK like the plague will come back Aug 1.

Right... I am sure failblazer and all his double digit IQ friends are tainting the results. Or will if they realize they can.

If you voted you can PM me your name and I can do a real count... See how it stacks up to this poll! All will be kept in confidence.

I picked the 18th thinking I would barely miss JFK. Then they said training might be a month and I realized I'm an idiot.

GrUpGrDn 06-03-2010 11:22 AM

i picked the 27, thinking 2months tx, oops, but also thought about paycheck, figuring 7/1 half of july guarantee, then 15th from 6/27 - 6/30. hmm guess i will suck it up in jfk for a month.

Ditto. Besides need time to line up housing/crahspad in DTW. Can't see much time in between finishing training then heading straight there. Not going to make the same (expensive) moves I made as a new hire in JFK.

Do u get recalled to the base u were furloughed from? What r the chances of holding cvg?

No, you go to JFK ---> DTW no matter what.

Not necessarily! Depending on this next vacancy bid and upgrades, CVG could go junior on the FO side. There will be a few CVG slots on this next bid, how senior it will go, nobody knows. DTW will be about the same size as JFK plus a few extra pilots, but it is a better option for commuters, so DTW could also be more senior or about the same as CVG.

I'm leary as well. Seems "too good to be true" that 11 in our relatively small APC world are resigning. I'm hoping today's bypass meeting goes suprisingly well. I think it would make a big difference for a lot of people and get some who want to come back soon, on the next round. Good Luck to all..whatever your decision may be!

I disagree. JFK would have been a much easier commute just based no the number of flights a day.

I agree. Where are these 11 people in the Updates thread. I think I have only seen 1 or 2 people say they would resign there.

That might not be the case, especialy if you were CVG based before recall. Observe:

All recalls are being displaced to JFK. You and the Mrs/Mr will each get 2 round trip positive space tix to go house hunting. Then, if you are again displaced to DTW, you get another 2 passes each.

You also get 3 consecutive days off for the move, but I'd be careful in using those days as house hunting days. The contract says they are to be used for "...days off related to the move." They might get suspicious if your primary mailing address doesn't change soon after that.

But at least you get positive space tix for a day trip to find a crash pad.

You missed my point! We are not talking about JFK anymore, that base is going to go away. What I was trying to say is that most commuters will bid/displaced to DTW because it will be easier for them to commute there than CVG.

No I think I get your point. DTW is easier than CVG. But I think you missed my point. JFK is much easier than DTW. Therefore, I do not think many people in CVG would bid DTW. Anyone who is a commuter was probably already in JFK.
