Priority for actual jumpseat on DL Connection
 

I never jumpseat on Delta Connection and can't find anything on our website. But my first leg is DH to MSP tomorrow and it's a little tight. So will a Delta connection pilot have priority over a mainline pilot on the actual jumpseat?

If your flight is a DH, shouldn't you be POS space? :confused:

Jumpseat priorities are usually something along the lines of:

1) FAA / SS / other official government business
2) Company employees on official business (line checks, management, etc)
3) Positive space company travel

Then, jumpseating space available...
4) Company employees (ie: Skywest)
5) Wholly owned employees (ie: ASA)
6) Contracted major employees (ie: United / Delta)
7) Other associated regional carriers (ie: DCI, United Express)
8) All other carriers with reciprocal agreements & CASS


I don't work for Skywest or whoever you may be jumpseating on, but I'd guess its something similar to that. You'll only have priority over mainline if its your company you're on.

If its that tight and there is another pilot trying to jumpseat wouldn't you take the positive space seat anyway so that the other pilot can get home or to work? Or do you not get positive space for deadhead? On ASA we have priority, then mainline has priority over other connection carriers, then other connection carriers, and then first come for the rest. But I think within the last 20 minutes of a flight it is first come first serve, at least that's how it is on Delta mainline.

I'm not 100% sure on this but, you are asking about a Delta "connection" flight so if it was a Pinnacle operated flight, it would go Pinnacle pilots first, then, DAL or other DAL connection pilots (first who listed) then other 121 airlines (first who listed). I dont have my manuals in front of me but that's what i think.

You work for SW, if it was a SW operated flight i would think you would get it first even if you are the last to check in. Ofcouse i could be wrong.

Yep this is how it works at pinnacle.

Pinnacle pilot (at anytime)
Delta and Delta connection pilots (first come)
Everyone else (first come)

I wasn't very clear on my original post, so I apologize. My first leg was a DH was from ORD-MSP (ORD based, STL commuter). I am pretty sure on United, a UAX pilot gets priority over a UAL pilot on all UAX carriers except TSA and gojet, and I was wondering if Delta was similar.

I ended up in the actual on Southwest. Thanks for the replies.
