ASA Jumpseat

Can any ASA folks here tell if if ASA Captains are limited to signing only 1 jumpseat request? If there are seats open in back can he/she sign multiple jumpseat forms as Delta mainline and U S Airways can? Also can I proceed directly to the gate or do I need to go to the counter first?

Thanks in advance. There are some packs flights out there.

We take as many j/s as there are open seats, provided your CASS approved.

Thanks-do I need to list in advance or do anything at the counter before going to the gate?

Be sure to arrive at the gate 30+ prior. Delta gate agents handle our jumpseats and they now have to fill out a lengthy form in their computer with all of your information. Many are deciding they can't be bothered with it, so are denying jumpseaters who show up less than 30 prior.

And if thats the case just stand by the gate and get the crews attention and we'll be more than happy to help !

If you are checked in any anyone with higher priority shows up within 20 minutes kindly remind the gate agent that she does not have to process anyone and bump you... EVEN THE FAA.

And as a reminder, all of us need to be sure to check the gate for jumpseaters since we can't count on the gate agents to do their jobs. As a former commuter, I am not opposed to delaying a flight to get someone on.

Actually, you only need to be CASS approved to sit in the cockpit.
