My position is that I wish I were as smart as our management. They locked in a 10 year deal for 205 aircraft, bought ExpressJet for 1/3rd of what they offered a couple of years ago (when I believe they expected to have the deal fall apart and walk away with the breakup fee) and at most it will take SkyWest Inc. six months to get their cash position back to where it was before the deal. In the process they've guaranteed that they are the most important and influential regional airline for what will be the two largest airlines in the world.

Oh, you mean my position on one seniority list. I think they should merge all the lists with strong language to protect people from getting displaced from or bumped down the list in their domicile by pilots from the other airlines.

My guess though is that most would rather keep the status quo, than deal with the uncertainty of a merged list and its possible implications on QOL and upgrade times. I believe I'm in the minority in wanting the lists merged. Most are just breathing a sigh of relief that they aren't involved. I can see the arguments both for and against, but in the end I'd rather take the risk and end the whipsaw.

They ARE involved. Either through a three way merger or just two this WILL affect their careers in the long run. If Jerry doesnt want to merge all three lists and xjt/asa is willing to negotiate you can almost guarantee that there will be a growth clause put into the new contract. I would assume something along the lines of any new flying has to be equally shared between the two companies or block hours transferred to balance the growth. If skywest grows with united flying then they need to transfer delta block hours from skywest to asa... That isnt what we want but that might be where this is forced to go.

Long story short: the pilots of skywest are involved.
