Skywest running new hire classes in Aug & Sep

This statement alone shows that you have no idea what you're talking about. Mesa was granted an extension on filing their POR until Oct. 21'st with the possibility of it being extended to Dec. 1'st. Until these dates nothing around Mesa is going to change as Mesa itself has the exclusive rights to the reorganization and operation of the company. So, care to shed some light on this legally impossible September date you speak of?

Messenger from whom? These are both theoretically possible, but the CA thing is pretty unlikely.
Mesa could be dome as an asset transfer in BK with no labor recourse, but an attempt to do that to CA would result in endless lawsuits since it would clearly be same airplanes, same routes.
Even is the CA contract is up at year-end, guess what? We live under the RLA, which extends expired contracts indefinitely until a new one can be worked out. Unless CA alpa voluntarily gives up scope (hah!) an asset transfer ain't happening.

What about the fact that our contract doesn't say anything about fleet numbers? It is an LOA with a clear beginning and ending date. I would think an LOA isn't subeject to the same extensions as a contract.
I don' see what would hold back Delta from transferring say... 10 airframes a month to whomever they chose, until Comair is left with nothing?
I know and you know it would be the same airplanes on the same routes but it would be the same thing as when they transferred all of our other planes and didn't take any pilots?
I hope it's different than that, but I just don't see how the contract protects against it.
Thanks.

Could somebody answer a few questions, or direct me to the appropriate thread if there already is one:
What does Skywest pay during training?
When do you get medical coverage after starting class?
What are your pass privileges on Delta?
What are the junior bases for the 120?
How many hours a month do the average line holder fly on the 120?
How many days off for reserves?
Is there a commuting policy?
Where is training held on the 120?
I know I'm going to get some smart @$$ answers but if somebody would be kind enough to answer these, I'm trying to make an informed decision.
Thank You.

What does Skywest pay during training?
60 hrs a month at 1st yr pay $22hr
When do you get medical coverage after starting class?
90 days
What are your pass privileges on Delta?
Unlimited domestic, 6 international segments per year. Yearly fee that currently is capped at $200. Just the employee is $100 and I think its $50 for each qualified pass rider you add after that. Qualified = Parents, Spouse, Children.
SkyWest travel is pretty much immediate upon starting training (no wait if it's operated by SKW) Delta and United benefits kick in after beginning training. I think DAL is 15days wait and UAL is 30 days but it may be vice versa.
What are the junior bases for the 120?
Fresno.
How many hours a month do the average line holder fly on the 120?
I avg 90-95
How many days off for reserves?
10
Is there a commuting policy?
No
Where is training held on the 120?
Ground in SLC, FTD in Fresno, Sim in Long Beach
Hope this helps

UAL4LOW.. I'll give you some additional info that might help you.
We currently have 193 EMB FOs. If we start running RJ transition or EMB upgrade classes, well over 100 of those could move out of the position. Therefore, holding a line or getting the domicile of your choice could come quickly. You can change domiciles as often as they award transfers. Turn down the transfer - six month lock.
One year seat lock until you can transition to the RJ.
All of this dependent upon movement of course, of which we haven't had any in 2 1/2 years.

Also fat is the largest bro base and has the most lines and has the biggest potential to hold a line the quickest once there is movement.
As for a commuter from mco, it's not that bad to get to fat. Even during fog season and other high load times, it just requires more creative planning.

Yes we still get dl benefits. I am not sure but I think that's right about the international travel.
Just curious for those ual furloughs do they get to use their ual seniority for non rev travel while at SkyWest?

Thanks for all the replies! This helps a lot.
I have just a few follow ups:
Do you pay for hotel during training?
Do you pay for uniforms?
What is the typical length (footprint) of training for the 120?
UAL furloughs already have travel from UAL, so I doubt they will use the UAL side, but they may utilize the Delta benefits, if it makes for an easier commute.
