Orange Threat Level and TSA
 

Apperantly now we are no longer allowed to carry any type of fluid in carry-on luggage. Has anyone been affected by this yet, today? I received a memo from my company saying flight crews were able to carry-on anything from the list of prohibited items. What about non-rev, deadheading, etc?

Any stories?

Our memo says "Flight Crew Members are exempt"....
this doesn't cleary address non-rev, but to me it clearly does include dead-heads.

TSA has no way of knowing if you are working, dead-heading or non-reving...the gold standard for their determination of your status is always whether you are in uniform or not. I almost always non-rev in uniform, that way I have fewer TSA hassles and don't have to carry appropriate civilian attire.

I always take my suitcase on as my "carry on" and check it plane side...now what am I supposed to do with my shaving kit!?!?
