Thank you, (SkyWest) Delta crew

A big thank you to the DL4513 crew (MSP-GFK) for a nice ride in the CRJ today. :)

Coto Pilot 09-17-2010 06:53 AM

If it was an RJ, it probably wasn't a Delta crew.

That's why he posted it in the Regional forums. It's hard to keep up with which regionals are flying for who. Thanks for the input though, Captain Obvious. ;)

blastoff 09-17-2010 07:17 AM

His ticket should say "Operated by:"

Baronpilot 09-17-2010 08:54 AM

It was Skywest Airlines

boilerpilot 09-17-2010 09:31 AM

wait, are you suggesting that its not immediately apparent what airline they're flying? But I thought roger cohen said that it's abundantly clear who the operator is...

Flex81 09-17-2010 12:15 PM

jeez you guys are wound too tight (blastoff and coto). the guy was just trying to say thank you and give a compliment.

Coto Pilot 09-17-2010 01:51 PM

Wound to tight? The name of this forum is "Airline Pilots Central", to become a member I assumed some knowledge of the industry was required. There is a massive divide between the mainline pilots and regional pilots regarding scope and jobs, I have been out of work for a year thanks to the outsourcing of my job to express carriers. I appreciate and respect anyone that wants to thank the pilots that got them where they wanted to go safely, but on "Airline Pilots Central", I expect them to know who's flying them.

There's no such thing.

Sure there is. That is, if you are 4 feet tall!

flyandive 09-17-2010 06:11 PM

Oh boy, here we go! :D

Just stating the obvious. The crew he is thanking works for a company not named "regional Delta." It would be nice if the younger class in the world actually lifted a finger (or their ticket) to get it right...there you go, now I'm wound up;)

flynwmn 09-17-2010 07:23 PM

Or delta didnt change it every 2 weeks

Coto Pilot...Sorry you have been out of work...Your fellow pilots at the mainline sold your job for pay and work rules...That's the way this business is....

You said:

"If it was an RJ, it probably wasn't a Delta crew."

If you are such an "expert", then why did you say it "probably wasn't a Delta crew"....We know it wasn't...

He was saying thank you...You are simply confirming what most of us already know....

snippercr 09-17-2010 08:32 PM

APC... where even a "Thank you" thread turns into a flame war in less than 1 page. Wound up tight? You bet! APC's registered members represent some of the TIGHTEST wound people on the internet. Even political message boards don't get this heated.

Yeah those young whipper snappers. I mean, even though the aircraft are painted Delta Colors, their Tickets say Delta Airlines, they're welcomed aboard "Delta Flight 1337" and earn Delta Sky miles, they can't even read the minuscule "Operated by Regional XYZ." What is this generation coming too? I bet all the older people can look at an RJ and tell you EXACTLY which regional carrier it is operated by! Curse those kids and their hip hop music! Now I'm going to bed, it's 8:30! Keep it down.
(The preceding paragraph was made entirely in satire. Again, only at APC would I need to add such a disclaimer).

and they are ground handled by people that were once mainline employees that have taken station reassignment and pay cut after pay cut.

solinator 09-17-2010 09:28 PM

Oh no! Sorry guys, I didn't mean to start a flame. You are right, it was a Delta-painted, operated by Skywest aircraft. When I wrote this I was so beyond tired, that finding my ticket (or remembering the regional operator) was impossible. I had been up since very early!

Again, sorry. And thanks again to the Skywest crew operating the CRJ200.

Oh! And today they did a great job again. I didn't catch the name of the female CO and the male FO. But the FA was surely a lovely lady. :)

HEHE! I didn't feel 4 feet tall, but I wasn't feeling 999 feet tall, like when you are in the 777, for sure.

It's a very quiet aircraft, I'll give ya that. :)

Most of us are just teasing...no need to apologize.

The title of the thread says "(SkyWest) Delta" so what's the problem? SkyWest flies Delta and United routes, so maybe he wanted to distinguish which side he was on. Lighten up, Francis.

Hate to rain on your parade but in the glory days that JS would have been on the mighty 727. Usually open seats in first class.:)

Brett1 09-24-2010 12:32 PM

I have been known to post a few thanks from time to time for the skywest crews. I fly into Aspen and find that the crews are damn good pilots and provide safe travel during some pretty challenging conditions.
