How Many XJT Furloughs Left?

Now that XJT and ASA have offered recalls to the furloughees, how many remain to be offered a recall? How many have bypassed? Trying to get an idea of where the combined company stands. Thanks!

This is from memory, I'm probably wrong.

347 furloughed
-175 already back
-32 back in november
-24 going to ASA
=116 still furloughed?

Everyone still on furlough at XJT has been offered the ASA class on 9/27 and has bypassed (there was still 1 open spot as of yesterday and the deadline for acceptance was last night).

About 30 of the remaining furloughees have not been offered an XJT recall yet.

Thanks Clocks. Add another 24 to that list. ASA is taking 48 now to those who are interested.

If they couldn't fill the first class with xjt guys I bet they wont fill the second. Looks like the rest of us are waiting for xjt to recall us or are deferring until they are forced to come back or resign (like the people who went back to school).

ImperialxRat 09-20-2010 08:13 PM

They may not have been able to fill this first class because they literally gave two weeks notice for it. They had one spot left for the Sept ASA class, which probably got filled.

My numbers may not be accurate, but I think they are... my number are for people recalled, not for letters sent.

112 pilots initially,
36 pilots for Sept
24 for ASA Class Sept
24 ASA Class Oct
32 pilots for Nov

That leaves 119 still not on property. I am sure a few will resign and not return, and everyone has had the opportunity to be hired back now. The union sent an email to all our guys that said anyone on furlough who wanted the ASA class spots was welcome to them.

You mean of the 119 still on the street all of them have had the opportunity to come back to either XJT or ASA. The Reason i ask is I assume ASA will start hiring off the street if thats the case?

According to the xjt union (the only communication I've gotten) ASA will hire externally if the classes are not filled by xjt furloughees.

Do you know the deadline to accept the October class?

RamenNoodles 09-21-2010 08:45 AM

Yes, if the XJT guys and gals don't fill the classes, there will be some external hiring. I'm hoping the XJT guys fill all of the open positions.

On a side note, at what point do the furloughees need to make the decision between returning or resigning? Or in other terms, when are the furloughs no longer allowed to bypass?

It should be after the second offer to return. First offer is "Return or Bypass", second is "Return or Goodbye".

Correct, however (to bring this back to the main thread topic) the ASA deal has no effect at all on this. This only applies to being recalled to XJT, and they haven't even gotten through everyone the first time yet.

That's true. Hopefully all will come back and we can start hiring again. (Well, not XJT....you know what I mean.)

Out of curiosity did they specifically say you're interviewing for the XJT side of the company or could you end up on the ASA side?

Well, they offered an XJT class date to someone who previously interviewed for an ASA position.

I believe with these newest interviewees they are saying it is specifically for an XJT position, but who knows.

YoDigity514 12-27-2010 06:48 PM

Yeah they told me that I will be interviewing for the Expressjet side (30th). He said in a year it will all be the same thing though. A buddy of mine has a class date for expressjet after interviewing. He was hired by ASA a while back but they cancelled his class date. I imagine after a while there will be very few differences except aircraft type and base.

I interviewed last Tuesday in ATL with ASA for an XJet job. Got the call yesterday for a Jan 10th class date. There's a 1/17 class date too and after that im not sure when they are. Just fyi
