I am sure there are some pool guys wishing they had a head start on ground school. So if you know how someone could get a hold of aircraft manuals, or copies there of ... e.g., Dash 8, CRJ 200, EMB 170

Its been said before, but...
If someone will be attending their first 121 ground school and they have no background in turbine engines or advanced aircraft systems, prep is certainly advisable, but IMO only in a general sense. Most of the "pure piston" guys I know who went into a 121 ground school who had difficulty experienced those problems with turbine engines, pressurization, complex electrical and hydraulic systems.
It might not be a good thing to study specific limitations and systems from anything other than materials directly from the company you will be working for. Some companies have slightly different limitations or procedures than those put out by the manufacturer, and if you spend time learning rote limitations it might bite you in the rear come testing & oral time.
Your mileage may vary!

We get quite a few folks coming into the 170 program who lack swept wing jet experience and who are unfamiliar with an FMS.
If someone wanted to do a little advance study, I'd point him to these areas. I would not encourage anyone to study specific systems in detail for the reasons given by Boiler.
