Kansas,
Are you in ICT? I am, that is why I ask. TG |
Nope, hangin' out in Cheyenne, training for Great Lakes. Just finished my systems test, and provided I get past the rest of this training craziness, Denver based in September on the luxurious 1900!

Hmmm...this is interesting. I know CWU offers internships with Alaska and Horizon, but most kids know they can't get on with Alaska a few years out of college? Horizon on the other hand is much more reachable especially with that direct hire program CWU has. I mean ya it would be really cool to do it at Alaska, but wouldn't it make more sense to do one with Horizon in terms of getting a feel for the company and giving yourself a good image so come interview time you'll feel a little more oriented and know what to expect from the company? I suppose on the other hand a lot of kids are still setting their sights on the majors and by doing it at Alaska 5 or 6 years down the road they might still have a contact they gained during the internship that can help get them the job. Tough choice...

I wrote about the whole AS and QX internship earlier but it got delected. bummer. The AS internship is great fun. It should get you a foot in the door with QX but it also depends on how much they are hiring. I would probably recommend the AS internship because that keeps other options open for you. If you do it with QX and them they are not hiring and you then interview with SkyWest that might open some eyes. With the internship you can meet great people and get sim time. Try the ILS CAT III approach with the HUD. Awsome.
CWU has internships with a primarily but I have heard of people also doing them with SkyWest or Kenmore. Pick any airline that has internships avialible and CWU can try to work it out. The raytheon one sounds like a winner. You can't beat time in a 1900. That is golden. Good luck on the choice but be sure to do one, esspecially in the summer. |
I'm really sorry that I am always the one asking the stupid questions, but I really want to try and get as much knowledge as I can.
So, first of all: What is CWU? Secend: How do I get an internship at any airline and how does it look like when there? Here in Germany we just do a short one (only two weeks! ) during school. Do I get to fly in an internship? Even at a major? Do legacies accept interns? Thank you all so much for helping me out so often! I learnd a huge load here and it's not stopping!:D :p Thanks again... |

OK. Thanks. But how do you get to an internship? Do I just have to send in an application, or do I really have to know someone or things like that? And when do I usually do an internship? Do I go to a college, suppose UND or another "pilot-factory" and they help me once I have some of my ratings? Which ratings do I need? Thanks in advance

at my old college internships were normally posted in the aviation department on the bulliten board, as you went by, you could see what different companies were offering and whether or not you'd meet the requirements to apply. Then, send in a letter (explaining why you want the internship) and any other required paper work, and they'd get back to you.
not sure where you can find them online, try to find one that's paid though. It'll make life easier. |
