Colgan Interview

Has anyone interviewed with Colgan lately? My cousin was at the last hiring session in LGA and apparently 8/15 guys failed either the Tech interview or the Sim eval.
My cousin successfully passed all phases and was sent for finger printing and Drug screen (yay for him!!! 1st 121 interview). I know the horror stories of Colgan, but I am excited for him. Anyway, whats the turn around time for him to hear back whether or not they'll offer him a job? I told him drug screen/finger prints is a GREAT sign but he's starting to second guess. Can anyone shed light on this?

Cheers.

A couple days from what I've heard.

Finger printing is a good sign. Don't expect to hear back for about a month. The paperwork has to go to MEM for a review board and then back to VA.

I don't think it'll take month. Mike said they asked him which ground school date he could attend. Dec 7, Dec 14 and Dec 28th. IF offered the job, he said his preference would be the Dec 28th class.

Finger printing is a great sign only problem is for those that have a check ride failure or other "event" pop up that they "forgot about" on pria or back ground check .. Congrats to him !!

I would encourage him to take the earliest class possible. Seniority is everything at an airline, it could be the difference between having a line or being on reserve. Also, someday it could be difference between being able to upgrade to captain or not. Take the Dec 7th class, no questions asked!!!

Very true. Back in late 07' early 08' three classes could mean the difference of being top 15% in base or sitting reserve for 3 years.

I tried to tell him to take a class ASAP but he doesnt want to burn a bridge with his current employer who requires 30 day notice.

He is a Colgan pilot now, he can afford to burn a bridge. (sarcasm).

Well not quite. He still hasnt heard anything back since Thursday regarding his drug test and finger prints. He does currently have a SIDA and AOA badge with his employer, so should be a non issue. The only problem I see is with his FOI, Was that Thai dancer a man or woman??? :D Sorry Mike couldn't resist.
