ASA and AirlineApps
Did anyone receive an email this morning regarding a new addendum to be filled out for ASA. Reason for asking is I am wondering if this email is bulk to all individuals with whom have an addendum filled out with ASA or are they finally looking at my app? .. hahaha
|
What's the new addendum?
|
seems to be the same addendum they've had for a few weeks now. I know they changed it not too long ago. I updated all the info when the change came out and I haven't gotten any emails. You may be in luck... maybe they are looking at your app.

I find it humorous that little ASA is fooling around with AirlineApps. They could just do it the way they've done it for 25 years instead of wasting everyone's time with that ridiculously burdensome and mysterious "system". It's not like they're hiring hundreds of pilots a year!

I was just looking at the ASA addendum a couple of minutes ago. Nothing new that I can tell. They changed it about a month ago, but nothing since then. Hopefully I'll get a call sometime.

It makes sense to me. |

With a list of ~4000 isn't airline apps a good resource to use? Would you rather them learn how to use the system when they are hiring a class ever other month or when they really need to hire? It makes sense to me.

Back in the late 90s/early 2000s we were hiring 300 a year and growing like a weed. AirlineApps existed (I think it was called UPASS then... TWA used it) but we didn't. The difference is that ASA would have to hire people in recruiting to pore over resumes/applications and conduct phone interviews. This used to be done by pilots. See where I'm going with this? Now, they're automating it, and passing the cost along to YOU by making you buy a membership. ASA acting like a big shot. |

New hires for WHAT FLYING?????? There is NO WAY there will be any growth in 2011! With some attrition I hardly see the need for 400 hires! We are fat now at ASA, considering over 30% on reserve and nobody on reserve breaking guarantee any more.

I wouldn't be so sure about that bro. Also, 30% are on reserve in ATL because many of the lines went to the IAD base due to the UAL scheduling now 2 months in a row mix up. If you want some extra cash with out working the insane amounts of hours to break guarantee on reserve, volunteer for TDY to IAD! With PBS coming that reserve coverage is going to go down to around 10% |
As of today, 11/30, 12 of the 27 on todays reserve list have over 75 hours for the month, and there is quite a bit of open time for December.
Also, we are losing 7 to 10 per month due to attrition. I went up 7 numbers last month. Tony, DR told me that he had 4000 applications to go through 6 weeks ago. That's not enough to use Airline Apps? |
yep, they are looking. I got both an email and phone call today from Recruiting for an interview.

Come on people, XJT is waaaay understaffed. Its all ASA now, meaning new hires could go to either side. XJT has nearly double the flying that ASA has and we are grossly understaffed. New hires will have to be brought in for that side alone. As far as the ASA side, I dunno....
