I noticed that too. You can also see the point of impact with the trees.

It looks like the airplane was airborne for at least 10 seconds. It hit the tree line at least 20-30 feet up.

I agree. It looks like it was maybe a couple feet off the ground where the fence is, and clipped it with the landing gear.

Does anyone know how old the google earth picture is? I may be getting suckered by the orientation, but I can't quite rectify the google pic with pic #6 from the Herald Leader slide show. Where are the barns? Which tree line did they hit?
