XJ 9E 9L SLI Thread

You guys were going to be an alterego airline. You were non-union, and PT had it in his head that the Q was the future. He wanted another Gojets.
Luckily, for yours and our sakes, you unionized before Trenary's master plan of whipsaw could be implemented. That and the Q never found a market beyond CO.
Your entire growth was backed in full by the revenue from Pinnacle Airlines. And we didn't ask anything from you. We congratulated you and our guys helped organize you into the ALPA fold as brothers.
In conclusion, your costs had nothing to do with it. You were GoJet II, before we extinguished that fire.

Please, by all means, if you did help me with the organizing drive, let me know who you are via PM so I can thank you. I'd be happy to buy you a beer. Otherwise, your opinion isn't worth the electrons it's typed on.

Hey colgan and Mesaba, I've got an idea: instead of bashing the 9e pilots who were not in the negotiating room and have nothing to do with how they negotiated, why don't you bash your own mec's for not trying harder for you! I am proud of our mec and negotiating comm. For working hard for us. And guess what, if it doesn't go exactly our way, most of us will be cool with whatever result. If my merger committee thought about the feelings of your two groups i would be ****ed because they represent me now. That's what negotiations are you aim high with the realization you may not get everything you Want. Colgan's committee has completely and childishly divided our entire pilot group now by jumping the gun. When we all fly together, u will see that we are good guys to fly with, until then remember that 99% of us were not in the negotiations so get off our backs
Instead of getting twisted around the axle on SLI propositions which will converge on the absurd, prepare yourselves for the award which will be a sticking arbitration (deal with it like adults vs. the usair types who continue to act like 4 year olds).
The list that comes out is a legal and binding interpretation... everyone will likely be duely ****ed off.

All true words.

Good/Safe idea to have integrated cockpit crews???

The error in that logic lies in the implication that all pilots (let alone ours) have matured beyond 4 years old! As much as we're lectured about the "P" word every day, this (the merger) will be an emotionally charged topic for the foreseeable future.

I may be missing something here and correct me if I'm wrong, but the NWA/DAL deal is a different story. That was a merger of airlines, not an acquisition. I may be putting my foot in my mouth but is our scenario not an acquisition? We aren't merging, unless you consider the planes and so on. My understanding is that Bloch views this as an acquisition, not a merger. Republic, whether they "saved" Frontier or not was done as an acquisition. NWA/DAL was a straight merge. I have no credible source just heard the same thing from a few different guys who don't know each other (maybe they hang our around the same water cooler). Anyways, I don't understand why people are still getting wrapped up in this, there's nothing that can be done by any of us. Sure if I get screwed I will be unhappy and I expect a XJ or 9L pilot to feel the same way, but lets keep it in the realm of whats really happening here.
