I'm not going to get into the we should thank this group or that group for what we have.

All I know is I was expecting 400 a week and a double occupancy room. I was happy to find out that we get a room to ourself and get paid gaurentee.

After listening in on the XJ furlough conference call, I got the impression a number of the returning xj guys (LGA Saab) plan on bidding upcoming vacancies for Pinnacle classes. On the same note, a number were curious about bidding other equipment and bases throughout 9L's system. Either way, chances are "the most junior guys" in the domiciles will see some movement no matter what the outcome of SLI. A couple senior FOs I know are even contemplating taking the seat lock so they can put an end to their 2 leg commutes. Lax, I'm assuming you're looking to do something along the same lines. Good luck, hope you end up where you want!

What does this mean for those just/still getting hired at 9E and 9L? Hope the hiring outlast the vacancies... If there's a flood of people already on property that are planning to move (I'm assuming there's more than just a few) you'll be staying junior for quite a while. So keep your fingers crossed for the hiring to continue on into next year. It's important to know that things can change in a heartbeat. I don't think this is nearly as likely, but there can always be displacements/furloughs. SLI is going to affect us all in one way or another, so hold on tight and hope for the best!

This is just my opinion, anyone else have any thoughts or outlooks?

Thanks for the information tom14cat14. I am anticipating that due to the shortage of pilots on the PNCL side, I may have a shot at holding a line in DTW. I guess we'll just have to see what happens with this SLI...

From what we were told DTW is the junior base for Pinnacle. It probably will be for awhile.

Really?! The Dirty D is junior? I would have guessed that JFK would have ended up being most junior with the cost of living there that no one would want it...well except folks that already live there.

Are you getting per diem too? If no, why not?

JFK will be the junior base in a few months, most mid-level seniority pilots volunteered to assume the junior pilots seniority facing displacement in order to make some extra cash flow via the displacement rights. There will be a re-alignment in a few months once vacancies allow them to bid out. IMO

I dont know. The union didn't give us a copy of the contract to be able to check. I believe we are considered MEM based at the moment. I'm not sure if that changes whether or not we get per diem.

You do not have a domicile yet, and you don't get paid per diem for any ground training that is not out of domicile....so no domicile, can't be out of domicile, so no per diem.
