More Bad news for ASA

Well as most asa pilots are probably aware of a new displacement bid will be sent out next month. We all got a letter that said next year asa will go from 155 airplanes to 132. They are reducing the crj700 fleet to 22 from 35 and atrs are going from 12 to 0. Total pilots now are around 1700 and they expect to have about 1200 next year. I'm just letting you guys know who are sitting in a pool hoping to get a job here that I would look for other places. I don't expect things to get much better.

I myself have given my 2 weeks and have found employment elsewhere.

Just curious where you found greener pastures. Sucks to see this stuff happen to you guys.

I wish all ASA pilots the best. My advice, if it's worth anything, is to seek employment at SKW. Two good friends of mine, both ASA pilots, now have interviews with SKW. One is just off IOE and the other is a second year FO. I walked both of their resumes in and the next day they received interviews. I heard that SKW is also relaxing their interview for ASA pilots (Hear Say). Good luck all.

That's sick. :( Moving from ASA, to the mothership of SKW.

Best of luck to all ASA pilots with low seniority. :(

SkyWest isn't making ASA guys do the sim ride during the interview process and is putting them at the top of the seniority for class from what I understand.

What are the chances for a single carrier status petition? You would think it would be an easy move.

We can try for single carrier status, but fact is that it never would go through in court. There has been a precedence set over the last few years. We all new this was going to happen if we were going to play hardball with the contract. Well it is now managements time to pitch. If it gets to hard we could always cave in and accept that wonderful proposal. I am trying to get out of here as fast as I can.

Pool E

I just got a UPSfrom ASA with a next day air return request for update info on some documents. The same day
I recieved the PRIA FAA ASA acknoledgement check.

I kinda got a good feeling about that

Not very good. Skywest is non-union asa is union so just getting a petition is hard much less actually figuring out a way to merge the lists.

For what it is worth...managrment has changed their mind about this stuff in the past, and I find it hard to believe this stuff is in stone now.

There may be an argument to be made that this is nothing more than a negotiating tact.

One day OO gets 900's then ASA does then it's back to OO. Same with 700's.

Our only chance is to not let managment pit us against each other. I know it's been discussed here at length a thousand times before..so I won't do it again. It should be clear, however, the PILOTS at OO have no dog in this fight and will do our best to stand with ASA PILOTS.

Hope for the best and prepeare for the worst.
