I totally agree. I didn't get hired by the regional airlines until I had 2200 tt, I have over 6500 tt and am always learning. I think it's unfair for the captains that have to really watch these new guys (500-900 tt)for a long time (at least for the first year). Although, the aviation environment is what it is today and I was just trying to give my 2 cents that might save the guy some money.:)

i think we are missing the point of my question...the reason i asked for a phone number was to ensure the answer...i'm not asking should it be done, I'm asking can it. there are personal reasons as to why i want to work for American Eagle. I appreciate all of the opinions, but I've heard them a thousand times already. All I'm looking for is a number I could contact AE with. Thanks.

Sorry, I couldn't resist. I don't know the number but I recently saw that if you have more than the minimum of 100 multi then they will seriously consider you regardless of total time. And yes, we are rumored to have numerous very low time newhires (200-300 hours).

Looking for a phone number to contact AE...that's pretty general...

I'm assuming you want a number for HR or the chief pilot. Those are the people that will best be able to answer your questions, and also, if you make a good impression on the phone, these people are likely the ones that will be in a position to pull your resume/application out of the stack. AE is not for me, but here's something that I've done that worked in the past...

Submit your app via airlineapps or whatever they do...mail your resume, etc. Most companies have at least some sort of a general information number available online. Call it, try to get around the automated system, and start talking to people, explaining that you recently submitted your app online/mailed your resume, and that you want to talk to HR/Chief Pilot to verify it was received. You are probably going to get the run around, but it's worth a shot.

Eagle's a good company. I'm glad you have good reasons to work there, as I would like to apply there too, for reasons other than simply upgrade time.

Yeah, but the captains are generally very high time and most have at least 7 years at Eagle alone. Of course, it's kinda a moot point since we are almost always unable to take jumpseaters due to weight restricitions and even getting in the cabin can be very tough nowadays:(

Well, reserve at Eagle is very difficult for most airplanes/domiciles. Perennial short-staffing and schedulers who are very good and experienced at crisis scheduling make for some very long and frustrating trips. Other than that the problem is that AMR is much more interested in blaming someone for a problem than they are with fixing it (at least it sure seems that way most times).

If you keep your nose clean and can put up with it until you're off reserve Eagle can be a decent place to work (upgrade time notwithstanding).
