I'm also in the 5/23 class. Wanted to take the 5/16 class, but I'm best man in a wedding on the 21st so I couldn't take it. The ERJ is relatively easy airplane to learn (flew it at Chautauqua) and I can't wait to get back in it. Also, if you want to get a little bit of a head start on systems knowledge, the website smartcockpit.com has .pdf files of aircraft systems for many different airplanes, including the E-145. It's Embraer's manual and not ExpressJet's version so there could be some differences, but I'm guessing it's pretty close. Might at least help with the whole "drinking from a fire hose" situation. Wish I had known about this website before my first 121 gig!

Assuming that you formerly worked for CHQ; do you imagine ASA/XJT is a step up, without taking into account pay? What was it like at CHQ?

I believe the pay at XJT is a little higher
CHQ FOs top out at $37/hour regardless of equipment (including the E-190).

I was only with Chautauqua for about 7 months (March 2008 to September 2008) with 5 of those being on the line before being furloughed so I really didn't get enough experience to say one way or the other much about CHQ. I was on reserve my whole time there, which sucked, but I'm sure it sucks at every airline. I personally am glad that I did not take the recall they offered me though, as the people I know who are still there say the SLI was a cluster **** and morale is pretty low. Also, I'm pretty sure contract negotiations have been going nowhere for quite some time at CHQ.
I've heard good things about ASA/XJT and I'm hoping that once they integrate, the new JCAB will be awesome. Looking forward to meeting some new folks and getting back on the line!

I'm mainly hoping that QOL provisions in the contract are much better and that labor/management relations are significantly better.

I'm not saying CHQ was bad. But from what I've heard, XJT has a pretty decent contract and I haven't really heard anything negative about management. I'm not expecting it to be a huge improvement, but even little things add up quickly.

Does ASA/XJT have cancellation pay? Because I'm pretty sure CHQ doesn't...

I was based out of CLE and averaged about 35 hrs/month. I spent a LOT of time being dead headed to other bases (mostly Columbus or Louisville) to sit for 4-5 days at a time and not fly. I wouldn't have minded only flying 35 hours a month if I had been able to stay in base for all my waiting. Oh well. Sounds like I will get used quite a bit on reserve at XJT

[QUOTE=LivinTheDream28;991096]Which has a shorter upgrade time? Are all upgrades the same length at S5, CHQ, & REP, or does it differ? I hear ASA/XJT will take longer to upgrade?
