Need some help picking a regional
I live in St. Louis and I know both Trans States and GoJet fly out of here. Now those two would be ideal regionals to work for as far as commuting goes. Are there any others out there that will give me a short commute?

you can look into Cape Air, pretty sure they still fly a few routes out of there.

Not sure what area you're in, but there are numerous regionals with ORD as a base as well. If STL is short for you, ORD might not be much further.

New hires for ExpressJet/ASA that are given the XJet side usually wind up in ORD. American Eagle also is placing new hires into ORD from what I hear. SkyWest also has a pilot base there, but I'm not sure how junior or senior that base goes for them.

Along with ORD, I imagine DFW or IAH wouldn't be a difficult commute either. ASA/ExpressJet and Eagle seem to be your best options.

You should go to the airport in St. Louis and ask the Trans States pilots this question. If you have to ask...
|
Whichever regional you pick just make sure you only stay long enough to get your time and get out because the hiring boom is about to begin.

I would keep a few things in mind when picking a regional. First, bases can come and go. Second, upgrade times can change on a dime. I would also ask myself this questions. If crap would hit the the fan again and you get stuck, could I make <insert regional> a career?
For me it all boiled down to contract/workrules, company history/stability/future outlook. |

Good luck staying at the regionals.Have fun flying 5-6 legs a day the rest of your career. So let me get this straight, you would rather stay at a regional rather than go to FDX,SWA..etc...that have better bennies and pay vs any regional out there?..Interesting
