Back in my EWA days, Tampa was senior 'cause the hotel gave us 50% off food and 25% off liquor. And if you were a junior lineholder, don't even think about touching the bear claws.

Point is, most of our trips were pretty similar, so the details became important. Every company, and even every domicile, can be different.

I live in base and bid down to get high speed reserve. I only get paid the 75 hour guarantee but in the first few month this year i worked 4 days a month. One f our most senior Capt on the 200 has been doing this for 3.5 years now. Last year i think he flew about 85 hours total.

When I was Houston based with XJT I got a 32 hour Veracruz overnight while on IOE... never saw that one again... it goes senior.

Sounds about right. 5 legs with a 3 hour sit in the middle with two plane swaps to a 9 hour overnight all worth 4:30 credit. Those are usually pretty senior here.

At my carrier it's a bit odd. The stand-ups, also known elsewhere as High Speeds, seem to go pretty senior though it can be hit or miss though. But they are commutable on both ends, which makes them pretty nice.

The most senior guy in my domicile just bids day trips. He has a good place to stay in our base and just wants to be home every night.

If it's a 2 leg day trip, how can there be nice layovers? :D

The ATL-NRT-ATL on the 777 is glorious. 2 legs, sleep half of them, 28 hours of credit, 24 hr layover, and a 3 day trip.

20 days off in a month? is this an exaggeration or is it possible to actually only work 10 days a month? I know when you are junior it is more likely to only have 11 or 12 days off, but i didn't know it was possible when you were more senior to have that much time off. Are a lot of guys working 15 days or less at regionals?
