Default 1500 hours / ATP for Part 121 rule?

What's the latest on this? Was this included in the bill that the congressmen from Minnesota (I think) just withdrew?

As FlyJSH said a year ago, we have search function.

Somehow I find it hard to believe the two are related.

I know a few newhires that have more money than the airline they work for. So it's like winning their own little lottery. Since winning money would be pointless to them.

Geez, I must be getting some kind of reputation to be referenced a year later.

To the OP, it is an ATP requirement, not just 1500 hours. The real question is how will section 217 pp (d) play out. Will the hour reduction be only to the training referenced in pp (c) (2) or to the full 1500 hours listed in (c) (1). As long as the reduction only applies to (c) (2), I have no problem.

15 multi???? Assuming that is true, soon there could be a guy/gal sitting in the right seat who has had about a dozen simulated engine failures and a whopping two full feather shutdowns. That is just sad. I guess the good news is he/she will be flying an almost centerline thrust airplane that doesn't rely on auto coarsen.

(No offense to the individual, I'm sure he is a fine 400 hour pilot)

The person in the right seat has to be able to take control of the airplane incase something was to happen to the captain. I doubt that will end on a positive note.
In a less extreme example an f/o will have to question a captains decision if he feels their actions are inappropriate. Doubt that would happen.
