Do Regionals Have training Contracts?

Title is self explanatory. If I want to try the regional thing out, and find a job elsewhere a few months later, am i stuck in a training contract?

Back in '07 when I was hired at RAH (Chautauqua), they had, and probably still do, have a contract. I resigned out of training 3 days before completion of training. Not for me. Anyway, did not have to pay on contract because I resigned before completing IOE. End of story. Could be different elsewhere, though.

Short version - some do, some don't. Who are you looking at?

They made us sign one at RAH on the Shuttle side...From what I hear its not enforced. 2 yr contract for 15K if you leave early.

Had one when a buddy of mine went through two or three months ago. I want to say 18 months at $7500.

He bailed after about a month and they came after him for it, he got a lawyer and they dropped it.

There's no contract at Commute.

No contract at Colgan/Mesaba.

Contract at RAH, not enforced unless you act stupid and take advantage of them. I quit before the contract was over and went with Delta, the only thing I heard from all of the folks at RAH was congrats.

Training contracts are an anachronism...Doubt you will any in the future unless things get to the point where the airlines PAYS for your primary training via an ab intio type program
