What's happening at AWAC?

I was called and a message left about my application from the recruiter. I returned the call and left a message to confirm my interest. That was a month ago. I just left another message to restate my interest. I've called several times hoping to speak to a live person but no luck. Does anyone know if they are still hiring? Are they just lining up potential applicants? I wish I wouldn't have missed that initial call.

can anyone on the inside give some insight?

The latest is that active hiring has stopped but they are potentially hiring for a pool in anticipation of attrition down the road. Just keep updating and leaving messages.

I've heard they're anticipating hiring at the end of summer but it's tentative. Right now they're staffed how they feel is appropriate (but still not enough too ensure I get the 4th off). We're tight on captains but better staffed on the FO side. My last two months on reserve have been slow. As a newb I have to say it's a good regional, relative to your other options. I'm starting to appreciate our contract and I haven't been abused by scheduling yet even though they had some opportunities to.

You'll change your tone when your stuck as an FO for 4 years flying 6 legs a day and overnights less than 11 hours everywhere.

I left 3 weeks ago after starting my 5th year and I feel like I've been reborn :D

FO for 4.5 years here. Personally I felt I had excellent QOL, I never even got junior manned. Over the past 1-2 years it was rough here as chronic short staffing really ran the RSV's hard. Plus side is you made a killing on the $$ side. It is better now.

I worked along 135 guys at previous jobs, and have flown with many who were 135 prior to coming here. All 135's are different. Most aren't that great, in fact kinda crappy. Some 135's are excellent. All depends on who you get hired on with, same goes for an airline. Some commuters are crappy, some are OK. I feel AWAC is OK.

The future is uncertain however. We are definitely one of the most fairly paid commuters, however that is like saying you are the coolest kid on the short bus. Only big thing that bothers me is this ASAP ordeal.

Would someone at AWAC be willing to ask HR to dig my app out of the pile and take a look at it please.

It all depends if there's more flying to buy... Personally, I would stay away from an airline that buys flying.... It means they can't compete with other carriers thus have to sweeten the pot by buying it.
