Skywest management needs to keep in mind since they lowered the bar so low on the 50 seat Airways flying that when it comes up for renewal Airways will expect the bar to be lowered even more. Just as Mesa's extended 900 flying, instead of a wider profit margin they had before is now very slim at best, just to save Airways $25 million.
I would expect in 2015 that Skywest will lower the bar again when the Mesa 900 flying comes up for renewal.Skywest will run out of money eventually since they choose to fly at a loss and could follow Mesa in BK. I don't think any regional is immune to BK if they continue down the Mesa path of business.

Easy killer..... The pilots at skywest have no parts of this, not their fault... This is purely a management (Mesa) f**ck up.... Mesa pilots suffer because the planes are gone, and sky west pilots keep flying planes that were headed for Tucson....

You misinterpreted my post - I sincerely congratulate the folks of SkyWest landing this contract. It was by no means a smart-a$$ comment at all. Did you bother read my post? If anything, OJ and his henchmen are purely to blame for Mesa's misfortunes. Meanwhile these boys get to rig their golden parachutes and make a clean getaway at the peril of the employees. Even more reason for me to leave here for good and not give Mesa the benefit of the doubt. Maybe you can a put in a good word for me at SkyWest. Cheers.

secondly, i can't even imagine that someone that is soon going to be working for kalitta is telling anyone about lowering the bar. you're going to be paid how much for flying a 747???

Pretty sure he is talking about what the COMPANY gets paid to operate the acft....not the pilots.

Different matter entirely if they try to lower the bar by cutting pilot pay, but SKW pilots still get paid a lot more than mesa pilots.

My interpretation is that they (MANAGEMENT) are also getting their foot in the door for the 900 flying in 2015 that comes up again for bidding.Or any other Airways RJ flying that comes up.
FWIW.. 3rd year FO pay at K4 will be what I'm making (per hour) as a 11 year CA on the 900, actually I will make more when you consider per diem and the difference in insurance cost.Do some research on Evergreens pay scale for the 747 compared to K4. And yes Atlas is better.Having a 747 PIC type rating is more valuable down the road than 2 RJ types.
