Commuting on AirTran - Listing number?
I posted in the commuting section a few days ago but there has been no response. Apologies to the moderators but I'd like to ask here too as there seems to be not so much exposure of the commuting sub-section.
Is there a number where non-revs can call to list as jumpseaters in advance of a flight on AirTran? The gate agents seem to prefer a listed person as opposed to a non-listed one and I'd like to play that game if I could. Thanks in advance! |

You can list at the ticket counter or in ATL at the service center. I don't believe there's a number to list ahead of time. They are great to commute on!
Other than that, is there anybody else where you can actually list as a jumpseater? |
I've never used it but I think it's 800.247.8726.

Having jumpseated rather extensively the past several months, I've only found two airlines where you can actually call a phone number and list as a jumpseater - FedEx (where it's required) and JetBlue. UPS too I think, but I haven't flown on them yet. I've heard AA sometimes requires it as well.

Other than that, is there anybody else where you can actually list as a jumpseater? AA pretty much requires it, unless you want to start your commute with being yelled at by the gate agent. (And perhaps left behind because they "don't have time" to list you, or "don't know how to create a listing") |
I was told by AT people at the gate to not use the number to list because they may try to charge you a fee??

Southwest.
The people at the service counters have always checked me in for the jumpseat though once I got there. |

Perhaps we can start a little list here? Does anybody else know who accepts listings via phone besides the four I listed above? |
