9e 200 Class dates

Anyone know if there will be any new classes running prior to the Sept 19th listed on 11-08?

higney85 08-21-2011 01:29 PM

Last I heard was 36 new hires each month indefinately, 24 upgrades each month. I know a NH class of roughly 20 started last monday.

I don't get it, where are they putting all these new hires plus the 180 pilots coming off the Saabs? Are they that understaffed?

We had 12 resignations last week alone and the "boom" hasn't hit yet. We also dropped down to one of our lowest block hour levels and we are still at line averages approaching 85hrs/mo.

We need pilots.

The "realignment" may work great in the end, but each equip change is a 3 month loss. If nothing else we need to have a "bubble" of excess pilots.

Is that 12 just at Pinnacle or system wide? I would think if they were able to get through the busy summer season then they would be fine until next spring, I guess not. Where are these people going that are leaving?

Thanks! I guess I need to keep harassing training to give me some sort of anticipated training date. I came off medical leave a bit ago and the only answer I get is that training has my info and will be in touch.

Let all the new hires come to JFK !!! I need more numbers ,, although I def dont recall my number moving up 12 numbers ???? I ll take Higneys word for it tho ..... Please let them continue

flyingreasemnky 08-22-2011 05:22 AM

I don't think there will be any "new" hire classes on the 200 anymore. With what's listed in the vacancy, all the fo spots will be for the Saab as just about 70% or more (going by asking people in the crewroom) of just the Saab FO's in IAD are bidding for the 200.

You need pilots? Hire me then! LOL
Can a low timer like me apply? (820/50)

When I got on with mesaba I didnt think there would be a chance that I'd get an interview. Just apply it cant hurt.

They are pretty junior. They may only be able to hold JFK.

Alot, including myself want DTW. I'm not sure why everyone else wants DTW but I'm originally from there.

Fly782 08-22-2011 04:48 PM

Probably because everyone knows theres tons of newbies there. Hello Line Holder

Fly782 08-22-2011 05:09 PM

OK. Most of the new hires are headed to JFK when they leave training. They have said only a few get DTW.

higney85 08-22-2011 05:25 PM

We have some in JFK holding lines the first month they can bid. The last CDO line went to the most junior in the whole place (JFK FO). He actually listened when we taught the PBS class...

pa28dakota 08-23-2011 07:20 AM

@higney85 I saw that! Im still wondering how one can set their bid preferences to pull that off. Our class in the disorganized mess they called training back in April never got a class on the PBS...well aside from the "you can request anything, but request too much and you'll ******* yourself," sentence from our primary insturctor. I got the last CDO line prior to the majority of the reserves, but the guy right behind me probably thought that last CDO line was his.

Keep thinking that, and let those of us who love them bid them.

(in case you are wondering why I say that, look just above my avitar: I'm a former freight dawg)

Lone Palm 08-23-2011 09:08 AM

If they are assigned like they are at Mesaba the secret lies in that CDO's are assigned first. Love them in the summer, hate them in the winter!

FlyJSH 08-23-2011 10:07 AM

Or.... love them all the time. Fly 25 hours and get 75 hours pay.... that means I make over $150 per flight hour flying a Saab!

True, but they are a little tougher up here in the north country with two leg highspeeds and deicing at each station during the winter!

rightside02 08-23-2011 11:26 AM

You guys take them all you want. Still the devil !!!

I know! You may see this snow bird sooner than you think!

bqnflyer 08-28-2011 06:04 AM

Anyone knows if the sept 26 class is for the jet?

anthony210 08-28-2011 06:52 AM

I doubt it. Latest vacency award shows a bunch of 200 FOs being displaced to the Saab. I doubt you will see new hours going to the jet for awhile.
