Does anyone have the numbers of how many people are in each class? What domiciles are people getting for the EMB out of class? How many weeks is training for both a/c? Thanks.

If someone gets the CRJ out of PSP, where is most of the flying? Do they mainly stay out west or do they make it out to ORD and out east. Also, they are running 3 classes a month, are they 2 RJ and 1 EMB?
I was looking at flightaware.com yesterday and it says that SkyWest flys to Nashville from SLC. A 3.5 hour flight in a CRJ. That is a long flight for the pax in the RJ.

EMB new hires go to FAT and PSP mainly. CRJ you end up in ORD and getting back to PSP will take quite a while. I fly the Emb out of FAT and I have a friend who flies the CRJ out of PSP, he mainly stays out west but every now and then he ends up in Texas or ORD.

Classes: These numbers are from an email that we recieved from Mgmnt. Listed below are the class dates as well as the number of pilots they want in each class. You'll find that these classes aren't being filled until the very end.

EMB ground school is 3 weeks and 1 1/2 for FTD and SIM.
CRJ ground school is 5 weeks and 2 weeks for SIM.

Training schedule:

Class Date
October 23 RJ NEW HIRE 30
October 30 NEW HIRE EMB 30
November 13 RJ NEW HIRE 30
November 27 NEW HIRE EMB 30
December 4 RJ NEW HIRE 30

They have reported that they will being running 2 RJ and 1 Bro class a month through May.

To answer the question about parking aircraft. Mgmnt also sent out a schedule and they are planning NO EMB Parking anytime soon. They are scheduled to receive a total of 17 CRJ-900s and quite a few more 700 by the end of next year.

Right now in the jet you could get ORD, DEN, FAT,or SLC during training.

You can express a preference for your aircraft, but if you're a CFI you are probably going to the bro. If you have significant 135 or turbine time, you will probably get the jet. If you have 121 time, the jet for sure.

First off. Thanks for the reply. I interviewed back in May and honestly was not fully prepared for it. My 6 months expires on Nov 19, I have been working hard to be fully prepared this time. I would really like the Nov 27 EMB class. Would it be full by the time that I interview? Cassidy told me to call here after my 6 months is up, should I call her a few days earily to see if I can get an interview earilier? Thanks agian for the help.

It might not hurt to call a few days early.

I think they are filling the classes a little further in advance right now, but if you get offered a later date you could always call on the 27th and see if there are any no-shows (there usually are)...they would probably allow you to join that class as a last-minute standby. Usually they call SLC locals for that, but if you volunteer I'm sure they'd go for it.

As of Friday they were hiring into a Nov. 13 RJ class and a Bro pool. The class before mine were sent to SLC, DEN, COS, and ORD.

No, You can end up in New York State sometimes. You go all around the system. On the united side more, on the delta side you kinda stay more out west.

Thanks for the input I will call a few days in advance. Are they having a hard time filling the classes or can they be picky?

They can be picky. At my interview a month ago we had a guy flying 747's and two military people, some freight dogs, and a few 121. I think this summer they were scrambling for people but now they even told us that they were being more selective.

At my interview I made known my strong desire for the Brazilla, but got a fedex pack later that week for the CRJ. And I am a 135 guy.

My question for you guys who are already in the system. I have non flying buddies in ORD/COS/DEN that said I can move in with them so I really don't care where I go. I would also eventually like to get back to TUS, but I am looking forward to something different for the next year.
My question is
-Out of ORD/SLC/DEN/COS where is the most demand for Fo's?
-Out of DEN/COS which base would be better (I would be living in between them anyway)?
-Where does the flying out of TUS go? I look at the route map and can't figure it out. Are they mostly 4 day trips going through the socal and slc system?

Im looking forward to starting at Skywest and just wanted to be informed if I have the option to choose a base. Thanks!
