Don't forget to wear your favorite union tie pin

I was a 2nd time around hire with SKW, remember to be confident and personable and what have you learned since the x months since you were last here? If they're bringing you in for round 2, they obviously need you/want you here.

SKW is very much about attitude and personality. You went through the process once so you know what to expect. I recommend you let them KNOW you really want the job. The interviewers are looking for the guy or gal they can sit next to and put up with on those 4 day trips. The technical side is definitely important but I think SKW looks for the right personality that also happens to be a good pilot. If you were invited back they want to hire you. In my interview they told us point blank, "you are all hired, it's up to you to not disqualify yourselves." Good luck! It's a great company.

gotta have 10 + posts before you can PM...

Did you have a weakness (that you realized) or were there areas you where you didn't know the answers in the tech portion? You don't have to know everything, but you should strive to look like you learned everything you could. You should absolutely know your current aircraft inside & out.
Make sure you know whatever you missed the first time, but don't focus on it to the exclusion of the rest of the areas they emphasize, ie jet theory, weather, FARs, Jepps, Systems, etc. I agree with the others - attitude and personality are huge. But when I got hired, the Captain also told me in the debrief - "we're looking to see if you can make it through ground school. It amazes me how many people show up without preparing enough." Keep that in mind. Study until you can't study anymore and show up with your best attitude. You've already got a leg up because you know what's coming. Good luck! If I can help you at all, feel free to PM me. |
hey stamps, I had some weakness I knew after the interview. I chose to talk about the elect sys in the rj...I didn't think they would dig so deep into it that I just burried myself. Everyone at the interview made me feel very comfortable, and from what I know about skw this is why I would like to work here. I guess after 10 posts i can pm....so I'll work on that !!! thanx

Just kidding! Hopefully someone successful on try #2 will jump in with some advice. If the subject of interview #1 comes up during #2, be honest. I would not bring it up myself, but if the interviewers do, face it squarely. Be prepared to discuss why you feel that you are an even better candidate this time. They may ask you what you might have done differently in interview number one. Unless you are aware of something obvious or can use this opening to inject mild humor into the process, I would focus on describing the strengths you feel that you possess that perhaps did not come across well in interview one. You want them to grasp that you consider the first interview a positive experience even though you were not hired. You also want to emphasize that you like their company enough to keep trying.
