Rumor or Fact?...XJT furloughing?

Is it just a rumor i heard today in the crew room or is XJT really furloughing? Any insights?

I thought xjt side was hiring continuously and Asa are the ones that are rather stagnant.

Total rubbish. We're still short of guys. Upgrades have slowed down because we don't have enough FOs to cover the flying while current Senior FOs are in upgrade class. The 27 aircraft that are up for renewal with United out of ORD start to expire next March/April with another 11 following in 2012, however negotiations are still going on to renew that flying.

It's complete BS!

11 more, didn't know about those. That's 37 a/c plus the 8 asa lost and the 6 that are up at the end of the year. 51 a/c either lost or in jeopardy, all 50 seaters.

Everything is on the table once the whipsaw mode goes full speed.

If I were new I would consider a more stable venue.

So you're from SKW. What's with all the negativity towards XJT?

No, that's not correct, 11 in March/April next year and then 11 more in 2012 plus 5 others on a separate short term CPA I believe. At the moment to be perfectly blunt ASA's losses, while sad for them, have absolutely no impact on us and I think it will be a long time before anything that happens over there really does. There's no way we are on track to be done with the merger by November!

There is definitely a danger of whipsaw in the medium term, but for now I think we'll keep on as we have without any real rhyme or reason or long term plan.....just like nearly every other regional out there.
