I find it funny that our company is worried about uniforms all the while our operation is in complete meltdown. I was hung up on by a scheduler who gave me an illegal (not contractual but FAA FAR illegal) reassignment so both my captain and I went home and waited for them to wonder where we were. I wont be treated like that and have zero sympathy for their lack of staffing. I wished I could give a **** about if I had to wear a hat or what color wings I got to wear but this place has been a complete circus for the past three years.

I dont care what you make me wear but I am going to go out of my way to be a PIA if you disrespect me even more then my menial job already entails. This past week has made me lose all respect for our new owners. I am really burnt out from the BS.

We have cancelled just north of a s#it-ton of flights in the last three days because of (and this is no exaggeration) the COMPLETE ineptitude of our "new and improved" offices in ATL.
The useless switch to a new scheduling and pay system not set up for our operational and contract parameters, combined with nearly tripling the demand on a scheduling dept all possessing "Atlanta-tude" has us in COMPLETE melt down right now.
Scheduling is canceling stuff for lack of crew with the crew and pax ON BOARD THE FREAKING AIRPLANE. They are HANGING UP on our crew members When we call to tell them we are there! The Crew trackers that are some of the best employees we have, and have held this place together in bad weather events, are being told that they "are just a crew tracker and need to stop bothering us" from these morons. When we call to PICK UP an uncovered flight to help out, we are denied "because we are in swap".
It's embarrassing, and if it wasn't all of our jobs on the line, would be funny.
Man... If this is what you guys at ASA have been dealing with, we're sorry.

Oh... And it HASN'T EVEN FREAKING SNOWED YET!!!! This is all from a 45 min TS in IAH and some delays in EWR...
If this doesn't get corrected NOW, we are in DEEP shiza in 6 weeks when winter ops starts picking up.

I've been off for a few days and removed from the current meltdown (thank GAWD). I kept seeing all the messages about SWAP and red flag and all that BS and kept wondering what all the hub bub was about. Then I saw the "operational challenges" myMessage (after opening an email to open ourASA to open myMessages to download and open a PDF:rolleyes:). Is this REALLY what's been behind all that?! I mean, I know the SOCC/OCC situation hasn't been smooth but gebus! I don't recall seeing "wholesale management ineptitude" listed as one of the "operational challenges" but maybe it should be if this is how things operate when weather in the hubs is decent and staffing levels are coming up.

Those goons in ATL have run an airline before, right?! I don't know about y'all, but it's starting to feel like ASA was a fruit picking company that bought an airline and now doesn't have a clue how to make it all work!

There were only two on duty schedulers in Atlanta at any given time and none had a working knowledge of our contract or apparently FAR's for that matter. Management has let go of most of our houston based schedulers and replaced them with Atlanta schedulers who are brand new. The brand new schedulers were using a scheduling system that isn't up to speed, they weren't quite sure how to book hotels or deadhead reservations, and they took their frustrations out on crew members and crew trackers by hanging up or insisting that you needed to do whatever they gave you. Almost every change they made those three days was either contractually or FAR illegal.

If I had done what they asked of me I would have been on duty for 17.5 hrs and would have a 30/7 violation which they didnt see because they amended my schedule the day prior incorrectly and completely deleted an entire turn which I had flown. They didn't notify us of our morning flight being cancelled (it was cancelled at 9pm the night before) so we showed to the airport at 5:30am only to wait on hold for three hours for a deadhead record locator. We get to IAH and they put us on a deadhead to EWR. I get to EWR and they had called me 3 times in flight to send me to ???. I wait on hold for an 1:30 and tell them i am illegal and they give me an earful and hang up on me.

After cooling down I am no longer mad at scheduling. I am mad at the management that put two clueless schedulers with a bad attitude in charge of half an operation. I am mad that we are left to deal with a scheduling program that doesnt work and a pay system that is so completely screwed up that it deletes entire turns off your schedule. We have brand new pilots being forced into doing stupid things by equally clueless schedulers who have ZERO understanding of our pilot groups contract.

The memo addressing "operational challenges" is probably the best piece of understated writing I have ever seen. These retarded monkeys just humped a football and are looking for a way to downplay their stupidity. This place is completely screwed with this leadership in place.
