Stellar Lines at 9E for Novemeber

Is anyone else as stoked as I am about these lines? 90% of the company has minimum days off (11).

Maybe I don't see the big picture, but one would think less total flying would equal more days off? Maybe my math is off...

Probably preparing for the classes to start in Nov which will make them short handed.

On more srs note, we've got the same problem over here at Trans States.

Sturbmaster 10-20-2011 01:40 PM

MSP on the FO side had like 6 reserves in Aug and now we have 24 when we have lost almost 2500 hours seems a little excessive.

You sure your not looking at Nov 10? Looked to me the average was about 15 days off... only when you got to the bottom at each base did you see 11 and 12... I didnt look at MSP or MEM though.

I predict massive sick calls and a meltdown hopefully it doesn't happen but when 50 captains in dtw get more than 15 days off and the remaining 140 line holders get 11 people will be ****ed

Silver02ex 10-20-2011 03:12 PM

I lost 3 days off and I bid in the top 10 in DTW. Average 2 days are now 12 1/2 hrs

Sounds like the most senior got more days off than the junior...Perhaps you are confused by the seniority system?

PinnacleFO 10-20-2011 04:13 PM

we have 190 line holders in dtw and 140 of them got 11 days off. Almost 75 percent of the lineholders getting min days off. These same people were getting 14-15 this summer

Wow. What happened? Were any PBS parameters changed or? I know reduced flyin around thanksgiving always results in a week of crappy pairings, but not enough to ruin an entire month. I don't know jack about PBS, so I'm trying to understand why the drastic change.

Really? I bid about halfway up in JFK, and I've only got 11 days off. Same with most of the people on the same "page" as me on the PBS awards. Even going up two pages, you see guys with a whopping 13 days off when they were getting 16-18. Basically, we're paying the price for the company having to do all the training and shifting people around. I'm pretty sure the PBS guys did their best. We simply just don't have enough pilots where they need to be is what it looks like. I love how PBS dropped a one day trip that consists of a CLT turn in on me.....with a 6:30 am show. Gee, thanks. I don't commute or anything. It's followed by a 4 day trip.

I forsee the suck continuing for the near future as guys are pulled off the line to be trained in their new positions. December is gonna suck just as much, Jan and Feb might be a little better, and from March on, we're all gonna be hosed unless they can fire guys through the training pipeline. Look at a bunch of the guys that bid back to MEM 200 CA, and they won't even be flying the line. A lot are check airmen that were in the sim rather than commuting to DTW or JFK. I doubt they'll give that up to go sit reserve. Nice to see post merger 9E still has the same issues it's always had.

Of course the lines were bad, gotta make room for all the colgan guys to come in on top...

jayray2 10-21-2011 12:09 AM

Exactly why we should have pushed for 12 or even 13 days off. I can't believe we had to fight among ourselves about how low we could go with people arguing they wanted to be able to only have 6 days off a month. The argument should have been whether we wanted 13 or 14 days off, instead we wasted our time trying to get less days off. We can't have our cake and eat it too. Which is it, do you want days off or do you want to work yourself into an early grave?

14 day off min? While we're at it, our FO and CA pay should be greater than FedEx. I mean, we work harder than those guys. Ever see them fly 20 legs in 4 days?????

Lines are awsome at XJ, mostly 15+ days off.

I am just stating the facts here Labbats but I guess in your world everything should be negative. The other question is? If you are flying an MD-80 you shouldn't even care what our lines look like MOVE ON nothing to see here.

Wingnutxj 10-21-2011 09:50 AM

XJ FO, 16 days off with sim and groundschool. But I will be on FMLA for the month, or until I get my Q classdate. I will have the holiday off!!!

You aren't just stating facts you're rubbing their noses in it. I haven't always flown MD80s, I used to be in the regionals and have several friends still there.

I know we have already had this argument but don't sell yourself so cheap. You don't think we deserve 14 days off a month? Reserve lines at SWA are 16 off, I don't think 14 is stretch for us. We do the same job - fly airplanes. I honestly think we could have gotten 12 or 13 days off in long bid months if we tried. Instead you (and your representation) were too busy arguing how you wanted less time off. How can you complain about 11 days off now?

Past V1 10-22-2011 08:17 AM

I foresee FMLA blasting holes in my schedule for the next few months.

This is going to be an ugly year if this is the beginning of training. My advice...make a baby!!! TeeHee!!!

And if you can't do that, you can at least practice. :)
