Skywest Junior bases?
I have an interview lined up with Skywest and I was wondering what I'd most likely be assigned to start with? I don't have prior 121 experience so I'm fairly sure I would be placed in the Brasilia.
I also have another problem, my wife was just assigned a tower/approach position in Aspen CO. Would it be impossible to get DEN or SLC in the near future? What is the schedule like for reserve pilots at Skywest? I know some of my questions have been answered in previous threads but I'm not sure how current that information is... Thanks! |

Read the SKW thread. The answer to those questions are new and relevant.

DEN can be held after a few months.

DEN can be held right off the bat. |
FAT on the EMB and MSP on the CRJ are the most junior.

For the record MBUR, toward the middle and end of hiring sprees the mid-seniority bases can be had off the bat, but when things start moving after a few months of stagnation, often the first few classes seem to go to the junior bases only, as the seniority list realigns itself. One reason for the realignment is the previous year's EMB pilots hit the 1 year mark and begin transitioning to the RJ, and generally the RJ specific domiciles, DEN being a major target for many. DEN Aspen flying certainly isn't like trying for PDX on the RJ, but it is potentially harder than many are making it sound, especially given the fact that the training department may be slowing down thru the winter. Take it all with a grain of salt, but nothing is guaranteed in this industry.

How senior do you think phx is going to be?

Speaking, or should I say speculating on bases, has anyone heard anything about PDX getting additional RJ flying?
