9E Holiday Parties CX'd... whats next Bonuses

I couldnt help but to read that our holiday parties are being cancelled because, "When you are operating at a loss, every dollar counts".
So, does that mean that we are going to cancel the bonuses too?!?!
LMAO

Fly782 11-15-2011 07:41 AM

I am waiting for this!

I've heard that is in the works also....

Skypilotsv1984 11-15-2011 09:09 AM

We get bonuses? Are you talking about our December pay bump because of the contract?

DL31082 11-15-2011 09:34 AM

The pay raise is contractual. I think he is talking about corporate bonuses.

Now they can feel the pain of what it's like to work for a regional carrier!

It's funny how much money it costs to run such a cheap operation.

Never compromise savings!

PropDriver 11-15-2011 10:16 AM

Does anyone actually go to these holiday parties?

9eflyer 11-15-2011 10:20 AM

Dang. I already saved the date.

MD340 11-15-2011 10:32 AM

A good move in the right direction. He may be the person to turn this mess around.

Skypilotsv1984 11-15-2011 10:37 AM

Maybe they could save some money but cutting off Phil and Doug's severance package.

No...those are contractually obligated, of course.

CoATP 11-15-2011 11:01 AM

I hope this doesn't mean no tee shirt when wemove the mesaba jets. I need to add it to my collection of mug and phil's "check" tee-shirt.

When you are a leader especially with what he has to deal with, tough decisions are part of the game. From a pilot perspective we should not complain that much about this because i went to one one time and there were 10 pilots there. This does suck for base employees who normally go to these events. Menke might not be that popular at first but i think in a year or two we will be happy he is the ceo.

At least we have Pinnacle Points, can't wait to get my 55" flat screen in 2031.

Absolutely. All the day pukes and their secretaries. It's so much fun to watch all those single moms who only get out twice a year. By midnight you can be sure the receptionist will be dancing with an appletini just before she blows chunks.

FlyJSH 11-15-2011 02:14 PM

Actually, it isn't the cost of the parties that is too high. Rather, it is the cost of repairs to the Xerox machines after all the butt copies are made.

Noseeums 11-15-2011 02:55 PM

Remember the "Paid in full" t-shirts? lol

Ah, so much wasted.

My favorite lawn mowing shirt. Pinnacle needs to stop paying their bills and start recording quarterly profits.

mooney 11-15-2011 05:52 PM

Trenary cancelled the holiday parties several years back one year so I wouldn't get too wound up in conspiracy theories/furloughs/this CEO is better since he cancelled it etc...

Noseeums 11-15-2011 06:17 PM

Sure yeah... ok

One of the papers published a story sometime last holiday that mentioned that there are 220+ unplanned pregnancies a year as a direct result of corporate x-mas parties. My wife works for a major financial company and the x-mas party this year is at a hotel, with an open bar, and no spouses permitted. Hmmmm. See statistic above. JSH were you at Indy when they cancelled the x-mas party because of the previous year table dancing event by members of the inflight team?

Dang! I wish I had.

On second thought, I'm glad I missed it. In cases like that, it's always up to us professional drinkers to babysit the amateurs. And it doesn't matter how hot she is if she yacks in bed.
