Sean Menke Group on Facebook???

There is a group on Facebook called "I support Sean Menke." It's a bunch of Frontier employees, including some pilots, showing support for the guy while he was "trying to pull things together" at Frontier...

FYI- the group's wall is currently unrestricted/open for comments...maybe a nice note "Thanks for asking us for wage concessions before my starving family's Christmas dinner, Sean--you're my best buddy LOL!!!!"

A Frontier/Air Whiskey pilot is listed as the creator...I find it disturbing she would create a page supporting a CEO that was dragging her and her fellow employees through bankruptcy.

However, as someone who has never worked for Frontier or Republic, who am I to judge...maybe she's a great person who is devoted to the survival and prosperity of her fellow pilots now??? Hmmmm....

Flaps,

If you take the time to talk to Frontier employees you'll find that while Menke had to do some difficult and unpopular things there, the vast majority respect him because he treated them fairly and was honest with them about their situation and what had to be done. I know several people that work there and all have positive things to say about Menke and respect him. Many of them were very upset when he did not stay at the "New" Frontier and run the branded operation for Bedford. When he left Republic the whole branded operation started to fall apart and now Frontier is in the sad state it is in now.

Say what you want, but Menke has been pretty straight forward with everyone since he walked in the door which is the same way he operated at Frontier. You and I may not like what he is proposing, but I don't think you can say he's been dishonest or tried to deceive anyone yet. As for previous management I'll keep those feelings to myself, but let's just say Menke did not walk into a good situation when he took the job.

Disgusting ignorance in my book. They love him over there... Increased emails/updates/memos/conference calls and an emphasis on 'perceived' honesty really doesn't cut it. Telling people you're honest is just that, talk. Hope you're enjoying the show that's being put on for you. As far as I'm concerned, and I'm not alone, they can have him back! But I guess when you have to decide between Bedford and The Monke, the choice is a little easier ;) Lesser of two EVILS type thing.

Merry Christmas to all, except.......

Who would you rather have? Yea it sucks the position we are in. We know that. He knows that. His job is to be boss. That's what he's doing.

The "team equality" persona will always win votes. Regardless of perception, he's the ring leader. I'm keeping my nose out of opinions, but he IS the CEO and it COULD be much worse in the top eadership ranks. That being said, I'd love to be a "fly on the wall" for these briefings. How losing $9M (rounded up) in a quarter with merger costs accounted for, with $80M in the bank (rounded down) constitutes a "OMG" moment is what I am curious about... Sure, anyone or any company could always find a place to put extra money is a given, but how "all hands on deck " came up still baffles me.

We should know our fate within a couple months as these agreements are either amended or canceled and our future is decided.

O the joy of the airline world!

They way Menke sees it, that 80 mil will be gone when we buy Horizon..... And that's also where our 5% is going.....and you thought 9e pilots were bitter about buying Colgan? :D

CoATP 12-25-2011 07:41 AM

what could go wrong with a Horizon integration? Watta great idea!
