Paying it forward! Comair 3080

THANK YOU To the crew of Comair 3080 yesterday.

JFK-DCA... I showed up for the j/s about 15mins prior. the gate agent could not get my pic to come up on Cass screen (full flt.) they finally issued me a 1P pass and I headed out to the aircraft. After checking in with the crew, Ca Mike told me he needed a Cass sheet. With 5mins to departure, he left the aircraft and walked all the way back to the terminal to get one. Mind you, we were at the end of the covered walkways at JFK - long walk. He got the sheet and I was accomodated in the j/s.

Paying it forward. What a wonderful crew. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

I have dead headed on a quite a few comair flights being based up in JFK and I must say they have always been very professional and extremely nice, always giving me first class, food , etc,

Good story to hear .....

Ahhh, the Delta/DCI JFK experience. What a circus. I don't miss it one bit.

Delta wants to be the premier airline in JFK and this is what you get... Gotta love it.

AA73: I'm glad the Comair crews were able to accomodate you. We always went out of our way to help jumpseaters. Comair still has tons of good people -- many of whom are being furloughed.

You can clearly see how important customer service is to Delta's paying passengers. Reminds me of the time we were loading passengers over at pad 11 and we had a girl that was in a wheelchair that had to get on with the lift. It was pouring down rain and the ramp crew could care less as this girl was getting soaked, so the flight attendant and myself got on the lift with her to shield herself from the rain. I was always embarrassed to be associated with Delta while operating in and out of JFK.

Fixed your statement (at least to reflect my own beliefs).

Ahh yes, the Feed Lot & Cattle Chutes! Hey aa73, how about getting us on the j/s in/out of Canada? Your flight schedule considers it domestic, yet the gate/ticketing considers it international, requiring international CASS. I need some AA/AE love sometimes out of YUL ;)

Sorry for my mistake and thanks for the correction.

I would gladly do it but AA unfortunately defines Canada as int'l. (Nothing at all to do with the flight division.) We are hoping this will change, right now of course everything in our contract is in limbo pending the company BK court presentation. In the meantime the least I can do is to forward your request to our j/s committee. Sorry for this inconvenience, you are by no means alone - AA seriously needs to get up to par with the rest of the industry j/s level.

What's the big deal, so you have to walk through 4 inches of icy water to get from the CRJs to the real airplanes. It's not like any of these people had international connections and would spend the next 9 hours to Europe in cold soggy shoes and socks jammed between two plus-sized passengers in coach.

At least they don't have carry-ons, so they can climb their way into the passenger terminal like something you'd see on a Survivor immunity challenge.

AA73, glad our guys could take care of you after reading how you helped out that fella coming back from Paris or wherever.
