What a wonderful idea. Buy two airlines, one already in the process of shrinking, and one with a 50% obsolete fleet heading to the desert. It actually makes sense, if you are Phil T and Doug S. Cash in your bonus, sell your options, and take your severence by pulling the ripcord on or before Summer 2011!

Those guys = pure genious!

It just drips with irony, doesn't it?

This is a thread about rumor and speculation. FlyJSH was just pointing out the futility in talking about rumors as if they were fact.

This is an internet forum, not anything official, so who cares if people post things that are not serious. If you want a serious conversation start your own forum with even more rules.

Also, FlyJSH has plenty of serious non-BS posts.

The 'o' was next to the 'i' and was hit by accident.

I find this hard to believe. I know spare parts are growing hard to find for these planes but if it is going to cost 2 mill per airframe someone will come out with a cheaper retrofit or modification. About two years ago I had heard CAL wasn't happy with the level of service in the saabs compared to the dash 8 product. I don't think the Colgan pilots will be affected because I think their q400 stuff is going to expand with United one way or the other. I really hope everyone keeps their jobs. Everyone, at any company, is a press release away from the street.

I think we're all familiar with the layout of a standard QWERTY keyboard. The 'd' is also next to the 'f' and the 'z' is next to the 's'. I don't think it gets you off the hook.
Yes, it is true. The Saabs are going away next year. They will be replaced two for one by B1900s which will all be single pilot crewed. Since so few of the present employees have single pilot experience, the company will be looking for direct hire CAs with King Air and 1900 time.

Also, the Qs and 900s will be converted to corporate ships and offered for charter under under the new name "Ultimate Comfort Airways" (which will fail miserably as all self branded regionals have). The 200s will all be converted to cargo ships under a contract with DHL and branded as the new ABEX; unfortunately, as DHL wants nothing to do with domestic operations, the 200s will be retired 90 days after the new contract is signed.

In the end, all but 72 pilots will be furloughed, and those who remain will be forced to toss cans of soda back to the 19 pax since there will no FAs left.
Nah, Just pitch up and roll 'em down the aisle.
