Will this hurt Cape Air???

JetBlue Airways Announces Seasonal Jet Service From Boston to Nantucket - PR Newswire - sacbee.com

Looks like only one round trip a day, but thats 22 C-402 flights a day that could be done by 9K.

Jetblue has been doing that for a few years now, nothing new except maybe the Walmart fare.

I don't know if they still do, but I used to do JFK-ACK with Comair.

BOS-ACK is new JFK-ACK is not.

Should be about 35 mins block or so. Hope it's an AM day turn.

I have nothing to really back this up, but for what it's worth the new(ish) B6 service hasn't done much to affect our service down in the Carib from SJU to STT/STX which they started this season (figure this is similar circumstances). And I also read somewhere that the ACK flight will be an evening turn, I don't think it'll have a huge impact on 9K but this is mostly my 2 cents!

It's coming back in June. It's a seasonal service. Operated by Pinnacle now. 2x daily CRJ.

I wonder if the Cape Air upper management will go to ACK to celebrate this new route like they did when JetBlue started JFK-MVY service last year. Cape Air flys(or is it flies?) HPN-MVY. I don't understand this relationship.

Yeah, like other posters have pointed out already, you are wrong. This will definitely hurt Cape Air.

Spoilers 02-14-2012 08:23 PM

Cape Air is one of JetBlues partner airlines...

Not necessarily. JetBlue is not always the least expensive or even close to the least expensive in some markets.

Gotta love how our "partner" keeps edging in on our markets. Hopefully it won't have much of an effect, like another poster said.

When it comes to summer, they'll be plenty of people going BOS-ACK. I say it won't hurt too much. One trip a day won't comply with every passengers' scheduling needs.

It will be interesting to watch Cape Air adapt to the changing markets over the next few years.

Adapting to less than favorable circumstances is something the company has proven over the years to overcome.
