No Calls
For the life of me I can't figure out why I am not getting any calls from airline apps. I am not currently flying daily but my times are still quite a bit above mins for most regionals.
Anyone else having trouble? I'd really like a shot at Expressjet but I can't figure out what's DQ-ing me from getting a call. |
You haven't recently been convicted of murder have you?

Got any internal letters of rec? Are you current?
If there's one near you, I'd suggest going to one of those fltops.com job fairs. I went to one in Chicago last year and after speaking with recruiters for XJT I had an interview lined up in less than a week. Best of luck to you man. I have a feeling the flood gates are gonna open up at the end of this year, if not then summer 2013. |

#1 internal recommendation
#2 open house #3 go to the airline yourself and walk yourself in #4 airline apps or other impersonal application process You will get a lot further on #3 than on #4. imho. Good luck! It is a long process getting the job, training, and first-year pay but in the end it is worth it. |

I failed my private pilot check ride the first time around. Also bombed the MEI Add-on oral. One speeding ticket from 2007. Not currently flying. :-( I am still current IFR and multi but my last multi flight was December 27th! Times are 1600 TT 466 MEL/455MELPIC |
You need to keep flying though. Do whatever it takes. Typically 100 in the last 6 months. Doesn't matter if it's a Cessna or an Airbus.

1. Murder. 2. Exchange of sexual favors (unless she's a fox/cougar, then knock yourself out :)). 3. Grand theft aero. 4. Drug-running (unless you're super confident in your low-level, night flying skills). :D |

Well I could go get into a C210 pretty quick but I've been holding out a bit for some more multi time. I'd hate to take the step back into light singles. Would you guys recommend chancing losing currency in hopes of my interviews with Great Lakes, Ameriflight, and a local survey company going well?
Flight Express has asked me to come flying some 210s and occasional BE58s for them but the run would have me living away from my wife and there are no jump seat agreements. I'd be cooked. |
