Bid Strategy and pay

For all you regional guys out there I am unfamiliar with the regional airline world. I wanted to know if someone was to go after a regional airline job and was willing to work thier a$$ off, what is the most number of hours of credit you could realistically earn per bid period? What is your bid strategy to get those hours?

Varies company to company and their contracts, as well as seniority and what you're able to get. I bid for high block time (85-90) hours and credit roughly 5 over that number. Month before last credited 110. Find a place that pays for cancellation pay, 100 perecent for dead heads, and does block or better.

I know this will open a whole new can of worms and I'm almost afraid to ask, but what regionals have some of the better contracts?

Yeah that's a lot of worms. You can search and find several of them or read enough pros and cons on here to get an idea. I'm an Awac guy and pretty satisfied.

I know of a guy at 9L who credited 190 hours one month but that was when they were offering 200% for all open time on the Saab. Anywho most people I know aho hold a line credit around 95- 110 without trying too hard

Plus as an FO, you are more at the mercey of the Captain you fly with. Some want firewall power and can care less about blocking out early, while some care about the extra cash. Id say it could be as much as 5 hours swing of credit based on 2 extremes of Captains.

Thanks for the replies guys. I may soon be on here *****ing about the regional life. I enjoy the flying I am doing and getting multi-turbine PIC with a decent paycheck but there are a lot of things about my company that I hate. Life at the regionals seems a bit more simple.

Does anyone have some recent contracts of their airlines that I can look at? I looked at the contracts here on APC but was wondering if there was anything newer.

If you are building multi-turbine PIC, I'd stick it out as long as possible to gt the coveted 1000 hrs. (Unless the company is unsafe and it's not just a QOL issue.)

Once you have that a bit of 121 time can't hurt to jump to the next level. As a general rule, I used to budget on 1000 hrs credit a year plus per diem. I was typically close, but I was also not busting butt most months.
