Default First Officer ATP Training

How is the first officer ATP training going at different airlines? From what little I've heard, it seems like there are much higher failure rates at some airlines than others. I've heard that lots of FO's at American Eagle are having trouble, but not so much at Republic and Skywest. I've not heard about others.

Pretty high passing rate at PSA. Then again, we do a PC ever year that is pretty much the same thing.

Yeah and I think being in the Sim twice a year helps too. It was very straight forward I thought.

Everybody in my class at 9E has passed their ATP Type Rides as FOs. Little strange though doing everything in the right seat, and then hopping over to the left seat to taxi in.

Its the same PC youve always had, just throw in a single engine missed.

The only thing you have to watch out for is the oral. I did mine over at 9L but I was (my own fault) completely unprepared for weather, aerodynamics and performance questions from the ATP question bank.

95% pass rate at XJT is what I've read in company memo's.

In the beginning there were problems with Eagle's. Now the pass rate fluctuates from 80-90%.

Why you can have a 20% failure rate for upgrades but only have a 3% rate for type/ATP is beyond me. It's Christmas time. Come and get your free ATP.

Because they aren't going to let them sign for airplanes.

Since when does the PTS say anything about that?

This is why many airlines have PFO's, it should be UP or OUT. Can you tell I am sick of flying with the weakest link?

That's in the P&L statement, not the PTS

There's some truth to that. We got rid of up or out at SKW a year or two ago.
