Probably, right after he finished his three month stint at atp. Now his mom can run and say "my boy finished school and he's off to be an airline pilot". But she cant tell the people she's talking to it was atp, and it really wasn't school just a mill.

In my 22 stealth roll aboard I pack a clean uniform shirt and trousers for each day. 3 black socks, 2 white. 4 pairs of t-shirts and shirts, spare tie, gym shorts, an umbrella, toilet bag and a pair of sneakers. I also have a set of regular street clothes, and one paue if flip flops. Plus the usual phone charger and a netbook.
I alternately use a PNT international and a Costco rolling duffel bag, in a addition to a Swiss rolling computer bag for a flight bag.
The Swill bag contains (in no particular order) the laptop and power brick, a 3-way US outlet splitter (grounded), a Universal AC Adapter, portable hard drive, kindle, iPod, phone, several sets of earbuds, CR-5, a couple of plotters, and assortment of pens and pencils, tinted window shades, plastic clipboard, tape flags, several magazines, often a 3-ring binder with some project I'm working on, flashlight, portable speakers, a stash of company forms, passports, certificates and a smaller bag with a good assortment of PC/iPod/Phone/USB/other cords and cables as well as a couple of USB chargers and a wireless mouse; and I'm certain other items I've forgotten.
In the PNT bag I can get one or two pairs of shoes, a shaving kit, 6 pairs of dress socks, around 6 pairs of athletic socks, probably 8-10 underwear, a pair of jeans, a pair of shorts, at least two uniform pants, 4 uniform shirts, 4 white t-shirts, a couple of regular t-shirts, a couple of Columbia Platinum Shirts and a pair of pants, plus a workout shirt and some shorts, and swimsuit. If I want to overstuff it, I may be able to get the leather jacket crammed in as well. Also, an additional bag of cords to permit connecting the laptop to various TVs and such, a small folding cooler bag, bottle koozie, can koozie, bottle opener. Mesh laundry bag, detergent/dryer sheets, stain stick.
If I take the rolling duffel, all of the above plus whatever else strikes my fancy. A couple of fleeces, some sweats for relaxing in, and assortment of powdered drink mixes, maybe some ramen noodle type things, windbreaker,
more shirts and pants. There's usually room left to pickup a couple of bottles of soda, wine or some beer and pack it along in case there isn't a supply handy at the next destination.
Style and comfort are paramount - of course I'm often gone around 20 days at a stretch, so I want the comforts of home, and I usually DON'T care to do laundry (though I carry the supplies in case of exigent circumstances). With TSnAzis (or their even less flexible European counterparts), I figure I'm checking a bag anyhow, so why not take everything I care to have with me!
And finally, to wrap up on topic - I've tried the backpack, just haven't found it to my liking. Neither do I like the iPod and earphones in uniform.
If you're going to wear the uniform, do it correctly - it's really not that hard (though the preponderance of evidence would suggest otherwise).

i swear, this thread was just a little historical info on the uniform and now jokers are talking about backpacks and flight case stickers. Same ol back and forth as always
"i think 2 is ok, but 3 is too much.."
"well, i disagree. I think 3 is ok but 4 is way too much."
"hey, i have 4. Why dont you guys mind your own business."
"why dont you stop bringing down the profession."
"pay me more and ill have less stickers."
i can give 2 dumps about what anyone else thinks about my flight case, pant color, sun glasses, cell phone, prince albert piercing, etc...get over yourselves boys and girls.
