Question for Eagle ATR guys out of MIA

Any Eagle ATR drivers know if a 10' longboard will fit in the cargo compartment? Any issues checking one on my way out to Marsh Harbour from Miami next week? I routinely check it as a jumpseater on mainline flights but haven't tried on you guys yet. Thanks in advance and hope I can return the favor!

Go for it, the ATR has room for it!

just make sure its not the ERJ, either way it will still fit checked, but it might get broken in the erj.

It's an ATR for sure- thanks! They don't take the ERJs out to the out islands. And I'll be sure to pack some extra bubble wrap ;).

Depending upon the month they do take the EMBs out to some but in this case it is an ATR.

Headed to Surfer's Beach? Hope Town? glad to see there's other surfers on this forum besides me

Hopetown. Magicseaweed looks pretty good late in the week; early am sessions before the wind shifts. Taking my own toys and my own woman-- the only way to go in the Bahamas!

Nice best of luck. Last solid surf I scored was 2 months ago in NY. Water temp: 37 degrees....

dont assume its an ATR, are you going in the next 2 weeks, otherwise be ready for it being an ERJ. We are doing Freeport with the EMJ, that was sched a few weeks ago to be an ATR. Slowly destination by destination, each month, they will switch to the EMJ.

Just in Hope Town last week. Make sure you can jump seat international on Eagle. I use Silver Airways all the time now cuz I heard we dont have an international agreement with AA.

I surfed in town by the graveyard a little while back and it was great! Otherwise, Garbanzo all the time...

Didn't think there was any good surfing in Marsh. Not sure he'll be able to fit that longboard in the Saab.

Hope Town (White sound really) and Guana have great surf when the swell is right. You just gotta watch out for the reef. Little Harbour and North Bar Chanel are rideable too.

lay down for a new board?

Update: Even though my jumpseat list shows us able to use Eagle for international (specifically says all Eagle flights are considered domestic for JS purposes) and AA travel listing created my reservation without a hitch...I was shot down in ATL at the ticket counter.

Thank God for the Spirit counter a few steps down! Made it to FLL with the board and had LOTS of help from both Unitental agent up top and the Silver agents at the gate...long story short...they made it work...and a 10' longboard will fit in a Saab. Not a single ding!

Next question: the site I use for loads is ridiculously optimistic sometimes. Any Silver, Expressjet or Unitental guys out there able to check UA flight 4045 for tomorrow out of MHH for FLL? I'll get the board on the FLL flight if the girl and I can't ride, so how does UA4016 look tomorrow MHH for PBI?

Thanks in advance!

CoAir shows Flight 4045 to FLL has 17 seats open. 4016 to PBI has 10 open. You shouldn't have problems getting into FLL. I'm not sure how accurate it is on certain flights, but the United app will sometimes give you availability by going to Flight Status and using the Seat Map and Stby Passenger List (but you have to account for people who have not checked in and are not yet assigned a seat). But for a last minute load check, it gets you in the ballpark and will let you know if the flight is booked or not. Silver flights also show up since they have UA flight number (for your future Bahamian surfing adventures :-P). Hope your board makes it back safely.

I know its a little late but I definitely watched the rampers in Huatulco take 2 surfboards off my Embryo and put 3 on for the return flight. I think it depends on who loads em and how but in can be done.
