PinnPro Ground Handling is gone

Just read the email - PinnPro is gone within the next two months. Over 1200 employees covering two hubs and nine field stations.

Last one out turn out the lights...

Silver02ex 05-07-2012 01:18 PM

Is it going to be done by Regional Elite now?

Where are the two hubs?

nightice 05-07-2012 01:30 PM

re hubs: discusses MEM and DTW PinnPro currently services.
re Regional Elite: cheapest bidder, not necessarily Reg Elite. Reg Elite has lost a couple bids here lately to other out-sourcing, cheaper vendors.

So it may not go to regional elite?

Avroman 05-07-2012 01:48 PM

Awsome, so now instead of waiting 20 min for a park in DTW we can wait 2 hours.... All so Delta can save 30 cents an hour.

CAPTAINPCL 05-07-2012 01:51 PM

The next announcement will be that we are parking 32 CRJ200....

ouch...........

nightice 05-07-2012 01:59 PM

well in this case, it was 9E that wanted to save all that dough.

Any idea where its going?

CAPTAINPCL 05-07-2012 02:03 PM

Also, can't wait to see what the company is going to propose for wage cuts tomorrow. My guess is we will be back to the 99 contract, but without its great health benefits..

As in worse health benefits or NO health benefits?

The only good thing about the 99 contract was the excellent health benefits and they were very cheap, unlike our current health benefits. So my guess is our benefits will not be getting better, but stay the same or get worse.

SmitteyB 05-07-2012 03:26 PM

If its '99 contract they can forget about it...people will leave in droves.

Why 32??? Any reason or just fanning the flames? I do find it interesting that we are streamlining ourselves to only have one business partner......Delta.

CriticalMach 05-07-2012 04:25 PM

If some how my wish of regional elite going bankrupt comes true.

and go where...?

pylit4lyfe 05-08-2012 05:31 AM

The reason were streamlining to one carrier is because Daddy Delta would only give the $74 mil in financing (which in reality is only $30 since Delta is going to take $44 off the top for PNCL purchasing Mesaba, which was forced upon them) if they stopped operations with UAL and US Airways, returned the Q-400s back to the lessor, and Delta approves a 6 yr business model. Its great how Menke basically said the only way they would get that money is if greater concessions are given up than they originally asked for. I love how it's the pilot groups fault for mgmt bad choices yet they get massive raises and the labor groups have to pay for both!

Just get out anyway they can, it doesn't have to be a flying job. I'm on 6th year FO pay and if my pay goes back to what it's like with a 99 contact. Most can go to another regional and make almost about the same as a 2nd year FO pay.

probably figuring Delta will do a 2 for 1 swap with us to give back our 16 900's scheduled to be parked, because after the coming forced concessions they will be able to pay what they were before and be profitable and still get rid of 32 50 seaters. Amazing how a corrupt system can work like clockwork.

Wingtips 05-08-2012 07:56 AM

I know someone that works in the ground handling management in DFW, they said Eagle put in competitive bids on all the openings, she thinks Eagle might get most of it.

So we're swapping planes we own for planes we don't own?

We have to give back the planes that we have a loan on because we do not own them. We own a few seats maybe a tire or two.

Not to cut Menke any slack (the guy is still a lousy sack of ****) but this is more of Delta's doing than anything. I hope the judge doesn't approve their DIP financing.

Doesn't that then mean chapter 7?

Delta was the one who called the shots. As others have said, nothing could have been done by outside forces if Delta wanted PNCL to file BK, and thats what they wanted.

Now, what makes Menke so worthless has nothing about the filing. It's about how he asked for concessions all the while knowing that he and Spanjers were planning on using the BK trouble as leverage to get more $$ from the Board. The cherry on the top was after all this, he had the nerve to cry like a 6 year old girl and cry about the toll this will take on his family.

Menke is not a leader; leaders dont cry, run when it gets tough, use his subordinates as leverage, etc...He is a joke.

YES!

On a call that had employess who feed their families on $20,000 a year, he was crying one the toll this will take on his family. He was brought to tears with the notion of having to support his family on $600,000 plus bonuses.

Someone needs to bury this guy in the business sense. He simply cannot continue to destroy worker compensation and benefits at each company he runs into the ground. He is disasterous for the shareholders as well and any board that considers a man of such low caliber should be ousted themselves.

I would love the national media, not the "Memphis Business Journal," to get the full story...

Saabs 05-08-2012 07:05 PM

What a joke. And reading the 1113 just ****ed me off. 10 days off now? Screw that!

Yep, and how about all those 1200 rampers' families that are now being let go and hitting the streets? Don't tell me they aren't in tears - and not even close to $20k a year - no health insurance, no retirement (cough)...all gone.
And the upcoming furloughs when jets are parked. Well for those left, catching a seat as a non-rev should be less of a challenge.
